At the Park

He just shook his head again. “I have no problem with pain. Like I told you the other night, I can take a lot of it.” He moved his hand towards her but stopped, not know if it was fine or not. “I’ll tell you what it is, some other time.”

[Penelope Greene]

"So I wasted that whole little speech?" Penny said, trying to lighten the mood. She took a breath and said, "That's fine, I respect that, though I would like to know soon."

Artemis looked slowly to him. "Im feeling really sick" She said gripping on to the chain. She inhaled deeply and held it. "Tobias..Im not sure of you and Lyra have a thing but" She hesitated looking away. Artemis closed her eyes for a moment before continuing.. "I like you..." She pressed her lips t a line standing up. "Oh god I should go"" SHe said turning red as she went to slowly walk away.

Tobias had moved towards Artemis when she said she was sick, but he now stood still, stunned. His mind raced as he tried to figure it all out. Two unexpected things, two nights in a row. He covered his mouth with his right hand, still frozen like a statue, and stared blankly at the ground. Then, in a split-second, he had run to catch Artemis and was at her side. "Wait, don't leave so suddenly," he told her firmly. He moved to grab her arm, but stopped himself. "Please. Wait."

He sucked in a breath as he chuckled at her. He sent a wave a relaxation towards her playfully. “I’ll tell you some other time, soon. I promise.” His hand twitched again as he reached for her again, his fingers interlocking with hers.

Artemis shook her head as she waled awy. She couldnt beileve what she had said. "Ugh" She said biting her lip. She was about to run home when she stopped when she heard ZTobias ask her to stay. "What Tobias?" She knew she was getting an awseer of regret. She closed her eyes and inhaled turning to look at him. Her face was flushed as she played with her ring nervously.

[Penelope Greene]

Penelope took Siburis' hand and squeezed it, and a spark of electricity went from her hand to his. "Good," she said simply, smiling up at him.

He winced slightly, taken back by the spark. “Didn’t have your power dear” He held her hand tightly as he started to walk again, his heart feeling heavy yet light as a feather.

[Penelope Greene]

"Sorry!" she exclaimed, "I didn't mean to do that. You okay?"

Tobias sucked in air and exhaled slowly. "I'm not sure what to say here," he started off. "I think you're a really cool girl and I like being your friend...it's just that... I can't... I just don't want to complicate things..." Tobias spoke hesitantly as he struggled to find the right words. "I can't be the person you want me to be," he told Artemis finally. "I hope you don't hate me after this, but I'll understand if you don't want to talk to me anymore. Right now just isn't a good time for me to be with anyone." Tobias let his head drop until he was looking at the ground. He didn't want to hurt Artemis.

He chuckled at her, nodding. “Yes, I’m alright. Don’t need to be a softly on me.” He gave her a dark grin as he sent a small spark from his hand to hers.

[Penelope Greene]

"Good," she said. "It's sometimes hard for me to control when I get emotional or excited or nervous- just anything different than normal."

[siburis]

He looked at their joint hand, using his power to spread a feeling of warmth into her. “I think that I’ll be able to help with that.” He smiled tenderly.

Artemis looked up to Tobias as he told her. She nodded sullenly breathing out. Artemis raised a hand to the back of her neck. "I should have just walked away" She said pressing her lips to a line. "I figured...You were attacked by three girls now" She tried to laugh. Artemis looked to the ground with a shrug. "No its cool" Artemis turned around and walked away. She shoot her head as she made her way back to the school.

Tobias stood alone, staring at the ground. He'd ruined everything.
