Nefertari checked her cellphone and sent a reply, saying goodbye to the people she had been hanging out with earlier she headed to In-N-Out. She walked through the door and looked around, waiting for Rhys.

Rhys walked into In n Out, famished, but also eager to meet up up with Tari. Pushing the door open, he looked around and spotted Tari waiting for him by the line.
He walked over and greeted her with a smile. "How are you? Been a while!"

She saw Rhys walk over and smiled back,"Hey! I know right? How are you feeling, Artemis told me you passed out. Again", she said with a laugh.

"Oh, Artemis told you about that, huh?" Rhys laughed, sheepishly scratching the back of his head. "Yea, turns out that big ... event with Tobias in the park took a lot out of me. So I've been spending a lot of time in bed sleeping." he said, laughing some more.
"How about you, though? Things good?" he asked, getting into line and motioning to allow her to be ahead of him.

She smiled,"Well, I'm glad you're better now. That night was really intense", she remarked, thinking back on it. She shook her head when he motioned for her to go in front,"It's fine, I ate earlier so I'm good."

Rhys continued to chat with Tari as he waited in line, two people from the register.
"How was Penny's party? I missed it," he said disappointedly.

"I actually didn't crash it this year, I was busy. But I heard some guy kissed her and got slapped", she said, laughing.

"Wow," he exclaimed, "Sounds like it was definitely something then. Any power outbreaks?" he asked curiously before stepping up to the counter to order.
"Double double and a med drink" he told the cashier, handing him a 10 dollar bill. After getting his order number, he walked over to an empty booth and sat down with Tari to wait for his order.
"Well, some summer, huh? Ready for class to start?" he asked her.

"Nothing that I heard about", she replied,"Sorry, I don't have any interesting gossip today", she laughed,
She sat down with Rhys and nodded,"Yeah, it was pretty eventful, I guess I'm going to miss being able to go into the city whenever. What about you, it's going to be your first year, excited?", she asked.

"Oh, it's fine," he laughed, "I'm sure your party this weekend will be more interesting, anyway." he said excitedly with a smile. "I hope I don't sleep through it!" He joked.
"Yea, not being able to go into the city will be a bit of a bummer," he agreed with a nod, glancing at the counter to see if his order was coming up yet. "No more blubbing until the sunrise, sadly. I'm pretty excited for my first year here, though, I guess. First time at a boarding school, so... I guess this will be an exciting experience!"

She nodded excited for her birthday,"It will be awesome, that would suck so much if you missed it", she said, really hoping he'd be able to make it.
Tari nodded,"Oceanside's always an exciting experience. Though living in Vegas was probably already really cool", she said, smiling at him,"Well...if we miss blubbing too much there's always sneaking out", she winked and heard his number being called,"I think that's you", she gestured over to the counter.

"Well," he said, looking at Tari, "I'll be sure to swing by, then," smiling.
He agreed about Vegas being cool, "though, it's not as much about casinoes as most people probably think," he told her with a chuckle and a shrug. Just another city, he explained. He smiled deviously at her notion of sneaking out and returned her wink before going up to get his food. "Oh, you're right, be right back!"
He soon sat back down with his burger, ready to scarf it down. Maybe not quite as aggressively as that, but he was pretty hungry. After taking a few bites and wiping whatever burger-juice was left on his lips, he asked, "So, what do you wanna do after this?"

She thought about it, tapping her chin lightly,"We should do something awesome to celebrate the last night of summer right?", she tried to think of something. It's a Sunday night. What is fun and still open?, she thought to herself, not coming up with anything.

Rhys finished the rest of his burger and wiped his lips with a napkin before taking a long sip to finish off is soda.
"Oh man, it is the last night of summer, huh? I almost forgot class started tomorrow," he admitted, a little embarrassed. He and Tari sat for a little while, thinking about how to end the night.
"How do you feel about a walk on the beach with me?" he suggested

"I nearly did too. It went by so quickly didn't it?", she said, it still hadn't hit her sumer was going to end. Too bad she hadn't gotten more done,"Have you gotten your schedule yet? That's what made me remember."
She smiled,"Sure that seems cool", she replied before getting up she looked at him,"Ready?"
