Aaron walked back to the school with Penelope. He sat down on a bench, his corndog completed. "Thanks for suggesting going out," Aaron said. "I'm glad we didn't stay in the cafeteria all day," Aaron lightly laughed and a small yawn escaped his mouth.

Penelope still had a bit of her corndog left, and she continued to bite at it. "Yeah, of course," she said, "I'm glad we did, the Dining Hall would have quickly become very boring." Another bite. "Are you tired?" she asked him.

"I'm kind of tired," Aaron said, "I could sleep if I tried, but it's easier to stay away," he said. "You're not tired at all, are you?" he asked her. "We could go our separate ways now if you want."

"No, I'm not tired at all," Penelope said. "Unless you're trying to get rid of me," she laughed, "Then I can be exhausted."

Aaron shook his head, "no no no!" and held his hands in defense, "no, no, I'm not seriously," he said, and for a moment he was about to get into the emotions of Penelope and try to convey that she didn't want to leave- all because he feared she was being serious.

Penelope laughed, "Chill out, Aaron, I was totally kidding," she told him. "I'm completely happy to sit here with you."

"I know, I was just afraid I offended you or something," Aaron said and took a deep breath to relax. He leaned back on the bench. "Did you have fun today?" he asked her, looking over to her.

"No, I was just having a laugh," she said to him. "I did have fun today, thank you," she said, looking back at him. "Did you?"

"I had a good time too," Aaron nodded as he thought back of the days events. Who would have thought that this was going to happen. He didn't talk to Penelope that much even though he was in her class. Maybe it was because they were in different halls... either way he was glad she approached him.

"Good," Penelope said, "I'm glad." She had never really spoken to Aaron before, she preferred to acquaint herself with students who were more powerful, but she was glad that she sat down at his table earlier.

"Me too," Aaron repeated, "me too." He was silent. Crickets were chirping and the air was thick. He didn't know what to say at the moment. He was lost for words. "Do you have any pets at home?"

"No, I don't,' Penelope said, "I'm not too much of an animal person. Dogs are okay, though. What about you?"

"I have a teacup shih tzu, well... it's my mom's but it's a family dog," Aaron said, thinking about how annoying that dog was. It would always yip and hop around because it was too small to jump on the couch. "Animals are nice, you just have to get to know them. I'm sure you know some shape shifters here."

"Yeah, but shapeshifters are humans, not animals," Penelope said to Aaron, "They don't act like animals, they just look like them."

Aaron wasn't going to argue about shape shifters and animals. He was surrounded by enough people with powers anyways. "It's weird thinking we have two years left here. After this... who knows what will happen."
