"I'd love to find anything about mental disorders. Or fantasy. And the whole gifted thing really interests me. Speaking of which, what is it you do, Derek?" Tahlah rattled out, smiling the whole time.

Derek was surprised at the question as they started to move through the shelves. He still wasn't used to people asking the question. Looking up, he said, "Oh, emotional manifestation. Er... from my emotions I can create energy." Something like that. Derek still didn't fully understand how his power worked. Turning back to Tahlah, "Now you know what I do, mind sharing what you do?"

"I shapeshift, but only into an animal I've had physical contact with. Like an.... Like an Animorph, kind of." Tahlah smiled. "And your power sounds quite interesting in itself."

"An Animorph? Wow, it's been years since I've heard anyone mention that series of books. And my power, it's not much." Derek shrugged as he let a few sparks dance around his hand, raising it for Tahlah to see.

"My name, actually, means wolf, and that's my favorite shift. They're so wild, and I lose my human self in the wolf or tiger mindsets sometimes." She reached out, lightly touching one of the wild sparks.

Derek made sure the shocks weren't harmful, just let it tingle Tahlah's fingers. "Wolf huh? Strong meaning for a pretty name." Smiling Derek, stopped in front of a few shelves. "I think we made it to the gifted section of the library." And close to the secret room behind one of the shelves.

"My mother is part Native American, I forget what tribe, but that's where Tahlah comes from. Would you like to see a shift?" Tahlah questioned, eyes brightening at the idea.

Derek was curious to see the shapeshift. "Perhaps..." Derek leaned back on a bookshelf and listened carefully to hear if anyone was in it. Hearing a faint thud, Derek guessed it was in use. No use interrupting other people. Looking back at Tahlah he finished with, "... back outside. I think the librarian might kill us for using our powers in here. Especially in the gifted section with all these rare books."

A nod. "Of course. Shall we head to the courtyard then?" Tahlah grinned, running over the process in her head. Oh, this would be fun.

Pushing himself off the bookcase, he took Tahlah's hand, and smiled, "Lets go then!"

Skye entered the library by the main doors and immediately felt the faint rush of cold air that always seemed to accompany libraries. She'd read somewhere about the best ways to preserve books and surely a proper environment was key, but she'd never tried to remember the methods. She did know that even in the middle of winter or summer any library she entered had a slight chill in the air when the doors first opened.
Closing the door as softly as she could behind herself, the brunette wandered past the non-fiction books into the fantasy area. Even before her power had made itself known she'd loved everything beyond normal. Now that she fell into that category as well, well that was even better. Walking down the aisles slowly, she scanned the shelves for anything new by authors she loved most of all. It was her first time in here since coming back to the school and she liked to find new books. There was a couple Stephen King stories she'd not seen before but she wasn't in the mood for horror. Another author on her favorites list was Robert Jordan. The school didn't have the latest book in his largest series but she did, with the rest, under her bed so that was fine. A few more authors she checked for specifically as she went down the rows. Mercedes Lackey, a good one for Elemental relationships. Dean Koontz, horror with comedy.
Nothing new from any of them but she did pick out a few stories she liked in particular to read again. Debating a moment at the head of a bookshelf with four books already in her arms, Skye turned and headed back more in the library to scan the books specifically for gifteds. Maybe she'd be able to find training methods to get stronger with her minor level barriers, or even a way to improve her Healing. Few people seemed to write about the process of repairing damage though, and those who did normally tied it into Elemental magiks; Earth or Water in particular. She could always try though.

Tari lifted her head up from the textbook and rubbed her eyes. Must have fallen asleep, she thought. She let out an exasperated sigh, she hated finals. Hated them. She stretched her arms over her head and decided it was time to leave. It was only 6:30 so maybe she'd go out to the city for a little and destress. It felt like forever since she had gone out in Oceanside. She put her things away and slung her bag over her shoulder. She waved to the librarian on her way out.
