Mykel nodded quietly, not looking at the other. "I'm.... just fine." Liar. His inner voice seemed to love that word.

Vergil frowned and looked at the other skeptically. He couldn't believe it- not when Mykel's mood dropped so quickly, much too quickly for him to consider the older boy fine. The onyx beads that remained wrapped at his arm remained silent as he reached out to touch his shoulder, "I ahm sohree eff thess vill sound.. meen, buht I cahnnot believf that."

"Just.... don't like being rejected...." He mumbled. "And I always fall for guys with no interest in guys." He fell back into the water, floating on his back. "Like Rhys."

Rhys.. ah, yes. Rhys Gerard, the boy I ran into early morning with Missy.. Vergil swam alongside Mykel and around him quietly then decided on an answer, "Herr Gehrard may noht havf ahn eenterhust en men buht that does noht meen yu vill noht find sohmvohn whu doez havf vohn. Yu should noht looze yoor hope, Mai-khul."

Mykel sighed softly, still floating. "And the one I did find turned out to be straight, dating me on a dare, and extremely abusive." He murmured, sighing again. "That's why my back's scarred."

Vergil paused in his swimming to float momentarily and continued, clasping one of Mykel's hands with his own. He didn't know what to say to such an admittance but he could offer comfort like he usually found himself doing in his life. His fingers laced with Mykel's and he gave him a sad smile, "There vill alvays be bahd peopuhl en life, Mai-khul... buht luk aht yu. Yu ahre ah-live und vhell. The ohnly theeng yu cahn du now es.. luhrn und movf ohn."

Mykel brightened a bit when Vergil's hand found its way to his, linking their fingers. He sniffed quietly, and nodded. "You know, you're right. I'm alive and well, I have great friends, and a kitten. I mean, I have powers, few people can say that. Thank you, Vergil."

Vergil nodded and gave Mykel's hand a squeeze, "That ess the speeret Mai-khul! Juhst be patehnt, mm? Gut theengs komm tu those whu vait ess how the sayeeng gohes I believf." He truly did think Mykel would find someone lovely some day, to soothe the aches and scars that came with his life. Until then, he was pretty sure he'd be happy to assist him in venting or just being there.

"Good things come to those who wait." He affirmed, smiling softly. "They truly do."

Vergil stroked the back of Mykel's hand with his thumb once and unlaced their fingers to dive under, swimming toward the deep end. His beads constricted slightly when the deck between his clothes shuddered violently, forcing him up and out of the water to look over to it.

Mykel touched the back of his hand lightly, then looked up, concerned, when Vergil popped up suddenly, seeing the younger's pile of clothes shudder. "What?"

Vergil heard the feminine hum shudder through his core like the deck shook now so he swam over to the edge and gingerly pushed his shirt aside to reveal the leather case; it flipped open before he could do it and one card slid out smoothly to land on top of his removed top. Upon it was a woman with large, expansive flippers for covering her body shyly and a mermaid's tail flipping below. She looked to Vergil with wide eyes and made herself known bye humming within his core again. She was die wässrige, the aqueous one. He scrambled to the shallow stairs and threw the willing elemental card to punch the pack firmly with the trinity knot ring then turned his fist to the right to unlock her for it was rare an elemental would so willingly want to play. She gave a sigh within him and the card melted away into strands of water that wrapped themselves tightly around Vergil and coiled for a moment before dragging him below the pool's waters.

Mykel blinked, watching, then gasped as Vergil was dragged under. He took off underwater towards the boy, swimming as fast as he could. Please be okay, please be okay....

Vergil was fine if not better so, though he wasn't exactly very human at that very moment. He flipped a luminescent, almost Lapis lazuli-like mermaid tail from below and made a humming coo as he swam around twice at the bottom. Die Wässrige was very content to be within her element for once even if it meant sharing the body of another for the moment.

Mykel's eyes widened, and he popped up to gasp for air. "Holy.... wow." He muttered, watching Vergil swim about. Was that a mer-tail?
