Lyra and Tobias were seated down. There was no need to sit at the counter top because it was 21 and over for this time... and Lyra wasn't going to order sushi so it would defeat the purpose.
"I can't see in here," Lyra quietly said to Tobias. The lights were dim and the dark colors of the wall made it almost impossible to see. Maybe it was the Feng-Shui thing they were trying to pull off.
Lyra's stomach started to growl and she looked through the menu with a straight face. Noting seemed appetizing really. Teriyaki Chicken was always an excellent, safe pick for a white girl.
"Ummm sooo how was lunch?" Lyra asked Tobias.

"It wasn't anything big," Tobias responded dully. He was focused on getting food and wasn't really paying attention to Lyra. He scanned the menu, looking for anything that would catch his attention.

"I cleaned my car out finally!" Lyra exclaimed, setting the menu down. She was proud of her accomplishment. Cleaning the car was always something on her to-do list.

"Your car was like a garbage dump. I'm glad you finally got around to cleaning it," Tobias replied without looking away from his menu. "What should I get?" he muttered.

"It was not a garbage dump!" Lyra crossed her arms and shook her head. "Just cheeseburger wrappers and water bottles and occasional napkin," she pouted. "What are you getting?" Lyra asked Tobias.

Tobias sighed and set down the menu. "I don't know what to get," he admitted. Lightly tapping his fingers on the table, Tobias picked up his water glass with his free hand and took a sip.

"Umm get food?" Lyra suggested. "I'm getting teriyaki chicken!" she exclaimed. Watching Tobias drink his water made Lyra thirsty and she took a sip of her water. "Order like, sushi or something," she suggested. "Or... teriyaki chicken! Or ham! Do they even have ham here?" Lyra rambled on.

Tobias shook his head as the waitress came to their table and asked for their orders. Tobias ended up getting a teriyaki salmon dinner along with an order of tekka maki sushi, ebi sushi, and a sashimi sample plate. He added a sprite too before letting Lyra order her food.

Lyra gave Tobias a funny face as she ordered. If only she knew what those things were. She ordered teriyaki chicken and edamame, feeling rather legit after ordering. Lyra ordered a cherry coke to drink because those were damn tasty. "So TK," Lyra said after the waitress took their orders, "I'm thinking we should go to Disneyland before school starts... or maybe after, like Labor day weekend."

"Planning trips already?" Tobias asked Lyra with a questioning look. "We don't have any money," he reminded her before taking another sip of water. His stomach growled.

Lyra breathed in and puffed her cheeks. "I have my season pass," she said. Yeah she had to beg for it for Christmas but she got it nonetheless. "I have to check the black-out dates," she said. "I'll pay for you!" Lyra really wanted to go. "It will be fun!The beach is boring now!"

"Oh yay!" Lyra clapped her hands and giggled, really exited that Tobias agreed to going. "You are the greatest TK!" she exclaimed as she tried to pull her chopsticks away. "Aww it's uneven," she frowned.

The food arrived and Tobias began to eat his salmon. He poured some shoyu into a small dish and picked up a tekka maki roll. He dipped it into the shoyu before eating the roll whole.

Lyra attempted to use her chopsticks and was slightly successful but quickly switched to her fork. "What's in that?" Lyra asked, pointing to his roll. Her chicken was good. Better than schools, that's for sure.
