"Oh, I don't need nearly as much practice as you do," Anna retorted as Artemis left. She did want to flex her powers since she never really got a chance to back home, so she spent some time in the training room phasing through stuff, manipulating her size, and shape shifting.

Tobias walked into the practice room and tossed his backpack in a corner. He stretched a bit while he waited for Lyra to arrive. They had planned to practice fighting again. He rotated his arms, stretched his legs, and did a few sprints across the room to warm up.
Oh man, I need to get more exercise!
Tobias controlled his breathing and rubbed his eye. He wasn't sure what to do now. "Lyra, where are you?" he asked himself.

When there was a time set up, it was common for Lyra to be there 2-10 minutes late from her bad judgement of time. She got dressed at the last minute, then forgot her water bottle and had to go back to her room to get it. But now Lyra was here, ready to practice. "Sorry I'm late, TK," Lyra said as she set her stuff on the ground.
Wearing a purple sports bra with black straps and black volleyball shorts. "Sorry I'm late, wait, I just said that," Lyra burst into laughter at her repetitiveness.

Tobias noticed Lyra had arrived finally. He shook his head in disappointment at her, but he still smiled. "Glad you could make it," he told her. Tobias had on a t-shirt and shorts. "How should we start?" he asked looking around the room for inspiration.
There didn't seem to be anyone else in the room. This fact comforted Tobias because he wanted to use his powers and didn't want anyone else to get in his way.

"At least I made it to homecoming," Lyra cooly said under her breath, scrunching her nose as she looked away from Tobias. Ugh. Homecoming. She will forever hold a grudge, but maybe today she could get her anger at. "Why not practice using your shadow manipulation before we start anything?" Lyra asked, "it's been a while, after all."

"What shadow should I use?" Tobias asked, sending a questioning look towards Lyra. He was debating the use of his own shadow. It had been quite a while since he'd manipulated anything and he didn't want to get in over his head.
Hmmm, probably shouldn't use my own shadow.
Tobias ran a hand through his hair, making it messy. "Should I use your shadow?" he asked Lyra.

If Tobias used Lyra's shadow, her shadow would probably be attacking her immediately. "Will you be able to control it? I'm prepared to defend myself, but you need to protect me too," Lyra said to Tobias, bending over to stretch her legs.

"Perhaps we should start out smaller?" Tobias suggested with a shrug. He decided to use the nice, dark shadow off of his backpack in the corner. Hand outstretched, he focused on the shadow and willed it to come to him.
The shadow flickered a few times before sliding silently across the smooth surface of the floor. It stopped a foot away from Tobias's feet. TK hadn't decided what to create yet. He pondered the possibilities for a few brief seconds then set to work. The shadow split unevenly into three separate shadows. Next, each one grew and rose off the floor. After a minute or two, three round, shadow-dodgeballs were on the floor between Lyra and TK.
"Let's play some dodgeball before we get too serious."

"Don't you dare use these balls to your advantage," Lyra smirked as she stepped towards the shadow-ball, but the shadow started to roll away from her. Lyra started to chase after the ball before leaping, trying to tackle the ball which she landed her face on. "Dammit TK..." Lyra mumbled as she picked herself up, picking up the ball too. "Let's get this game started," she said, setting the ball back down with the other three balls, then getting to an opposite side of the room.

Tobias chuckled and moved so that the balls were centered from his position against the back wall. He looked at Lyra, smiling. "3, 2, 1.... GO!" he yelled. As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Tobias ran forward to get to the dodgeballs.

Lyra started to yell when Tobias counted down. Oh god, how she hated dodgeball. She didn't want to get hit in the face. "Better be nice to me!" Lyra shouted, grabbing one shadow ball before running back. She held the ball with both hands, keeping a steady stance as she started at Tobias, wondering what his move would be." KYAAAAAAAA!" Lyra yelled, throwing the ball, aiming at Tobias.

Tobias deflected the ball with the one he held. "Nice try," he taunted Lyra. Without warning, TK launched his ball at Lyra and simultaneously ran to grab the last ball sitting in the middle. He snatched it and ran back to his wall.

"Gah! TK!" Lyra squealed, running from the ball. The ball exploded against the wall and instantly became a fine mist. But the mist didnt last long because the ball quickly reformed and plopped onto the ground. She retrieved the ball and threw it back at Tobias, quickly catching another ball Tobias threw, but landed on the ground.

Lyra was working on her high-kick jumps before having to get her leg amputated Tobias arrived. It was great to start working out again. Although Lyra missed singing, the best part about fighting against Tobias was fighting his shadows. It tested Lyra's physical strength and abilities and the feeling after working out was great. Especially the refreshing shower afterwards. Lyra shouted out some "hy-ahs!" as she kicked in mid-air then span as she landed on the ground, knees bent. Maybe she and Tobias should try sword fighting next time.

TK strode into the sparring room in full battle gear. His black combat pants had straps on the legs that could secure a trusty knife or dagger. His belt had several small pouches, each holding a deadly tool. He had on a short-sleeve, white shirt and a fortified leather armor vest. Over that, he wore a simple dark blue hoodie. A modified ballistic face mask protected his handsome facial features. He had fingerless gloves on his hands and the special wrist-guard that he had made for quick deployment of his shadow was secured on his right arm.
Each breath coming from the imposing figure of Tobias rattled through the face mask. He was not one to be underestimated. As a senior, Tobias had decided on a path that would allow him the most use of his powers. He had trained extensively to gain better control of his power and worked hard to create his battle-suit.
Now, Tobias turned to face Lyra. "Do you think you're ready?" he asked in all seriousness. A voice-modifier installed in the face mask changed his charming voice into a menacing growl. "Crap, wait," he said, reaching up to his mask. He fumbled with it for a second before a click let him know he had changed the output voice. "Isn't this cool?" he asked Lyra, his voice now auto-tuned.
