Aaron held his hand up as a sign of declining his offer. "No, don't worry, Melrose," Aaron said lightly. Melrose had no reason to pay him back, he was only helping her out, she was a fellow coworker. He couldn't just... watch her fall behind in her work. "So uh, what are your plans after work?" Aaron asked.
Aaron looked over at Melrose's shoulder, seeing a darker red color from the dampness of her shirt. Oh right, she had to change out of her uniform. He looked down at his red polo shirt. Yeah. He needed to change out of his uniform too.

Melrose smiled. Why was Aaron so sweet? She knew she'd have to pay him back somehow, whether he accepted it or not.
Wait. Was he asking her to hang out? Maybe... he didn't find her a burden after all. Melrose felt her face brightening. "Plans? Geez. None at the moment. Probably change my soaking shirt." She reached make and felt her back. The gross factor never fails. "Why?" She asked.

"I need to change out of my uniform too," Aaron said as he tugged on the polo shirt. He stopped at the parking lot of Pizza Planet. "I don't know if you drive," Aaron said, his thumb motioned the direction of Oceanside, "but I walk to work," he said. Aaron put his hands in his pocket.
"Why?" Aaron repeated Melrose's question. He slightly frowned from nervousness. Why did he want to hang out with her? He shrugged, "well, you are a new co-worker, you look my age, uh," he tried to think of a reason as if it was an excuse. Aaron shrugged, "I wouldn't mind..." Aaron's words were jumbled. "Yes."

Melrose has never owned a car in her life. Mostly because, who needs car when you can run faster than one? "I walk to work too. In fact, I come from that direction too. Wait, do you go to Oceanside?" It was a wild question to ask, but it was worth a shot.
"And I would love to hang out." She smiled, trying to ease the nervous atmosphere. She was surprised how flustered he was though. "Yes. I wouldn't mind either." She repeated what he said jokingly and giving him a small nudge.
Perhaps this was the start to a nice friendship.

Aaron was taken aback from Melrose's straightforward question. It was out of the blue really. She asked with such confidence. It made sense, well, maybe to him because Aaron went to the school. Well, the outsiders of Oceanside knew the school as a boarding school for extremely smart people, hence the "gifted" in their name. Or maybe some people thought the school was an asylum for special kids. Either way the kids at Oceanside had to keep their cool.
"Uh..." Aaron held the back of his neck, "yes, I do go to Oceanside?" he smiled funnily at her. "Do you go- how did you know I go there?" Aaron asked. Could she read minds?

"Lucky Guess, I suppose. I figured you did because the school's down in that direction and also because I happen to go there myself. I'm new this year, in fact." Melrose smiled. Wait.
If Aaron goes to Oceanside too, then that means... Melrose tried to keep herself from squealing with excitement. Meeting other gifted people was still new for her. She hadn't met anyone else that dealt with the same obstacles as she did until she came to Oceanside. She couldn't help but wonder what his gift was.
How awesome though. Not only is Aaron sweet, helpful, and generous but he's gifted too. Sweet, indeed.

Mel and Aaron only worked a couple days this week. Having a job was nice. It allowed him to get out of the school on weekdays. It was better when Melrose was on the same shift as him, to spend time with her after work and maybe going for ice cream later. Ahh... Mel. So sweet, so graceful. She really did improve over her weeks at the job. Heck, she didn't even quick after she raised the money for those shoes!
Aaron was wiping down counters of empty tables as he was told to do. Looking around occasionally to see what Melrose was up to.

Melrose opened the bathroom door, feeling a tad humiliated. She looked over at Bobbie, who had the usual ugly smirk on his face. "Are you sure this is, um, reasonable?" she asked, looked down at her uniform, trying to find the right words. "Definitely. It's an option for next summer's line of employee uniform. They needed someone to test run it, so I chose you." "Geez. Thanks? Is this like supposed to be an honor?" "Oh. It's definitely an honor."
Melrose forced a grin as she hustled past Bobbie, returning to her tasks. Instead of the usual black shorts that are worn to the knee, Bobbie had given her these bleached white short shorts for the day. They were booty shorts, come on now. How on earth were these anywhere on the list for possible summer uniforms?
Trying not to think about how dumb she looked, Melrose began mopping the floors. She hadn't managed to fall on the wet floors since last time. In fact, she was sort of becoming a cleaning professional. Her eye caught Aaron busy scrubbing the counters.
"Hey. Be honest, now." She mopped her way over to him, "Do you really think these are necessary?" She pulled away her mop, revealing her booty shorts to her fellow coworker. Melrose knew she could confide in Aaron on how absolutely ridiculous Bobbie was being.

Aaron quickly gasped for air when Melrose showed him her shorts. "I dunno maybe... turn around?" Aaron muttered and shrugged. Mel had really nice legs. Nice, long legs. As um... unprofessional this was... Bobbie made the right choice. Although Aaron would never admit that. "It's almost fall," Aaron said, "you wont need to wear them any more," Aaron shrugged again, trying to make her feel better. "But it is unnecessary, I will say that much," Aaron said as he leaned against the table.

Melrose did a turn and looked over her shoulder to frown at Aaron. "It's only for the day. Apparently I'm supposed to test run them for next summer's uniform. I don't know. I feel like I might of been lied to." She spun back around as her eyes wandered about the restaurant, trying to find Bobbie so she could send a much deserved glare. The creep though had managed to scamper off.
Leaning her mop against the table and then eventually herself next to Aaron, Melrose continued. "So, what have you been up to lately?" She hadn't gotten to talk much with him during the work day for they had both been so busy.

"Just work it, Mel," Aaron said, feeling no other like Sassy Gay Friend... although not really. Aaron only saw a couple of videos. He did laugh when watching it. He continued to clean the tables, although his main intention was engaging in conversation with Mel. "Working," Aaron replied, looking up at her. "I had a great time with you yesterday," Aaron smiled, his pearly whites flashing at Melrose. "You looked erm, great too," Aaron held the back of his neck, he was still unsure how to compliment Mel with out sounding weird.

Melrose smiled, pushing herself off the table so Aaron could finish cleaning. "Well I had a great time with you too, champ." It was completely truthful too. She really did enjoy herself. Everyone that went could have agreed it was a great party. They were all drunk or grinding on each other. Yeah. But see, the best part was that Melrose didn't need to be drunk or gross to have a good time. She just needed Aaron. Aaron was a good time.
Melrose yawned and supported herself on her mop and rested her chin on it. "And I thought you looked handsome too." she added politely, swaying back and forth. Melrose grinned, mirroring Aaron's smile. Geez, he did look good. Well, he always did. But Aaron can definitely clean up when he needs to, and he can do it well.

Aaron could show Melrose a good time, most definitely. Aaron let out a small laugh, flattered by her compliment. It did mean a lot, coming from Melrose. She always knew how to make him smile and have a good time. Mel was easy going and he loved being around her. She had a great vibe going on. "Can't wait for the next party!" Aaron said. He walked over to the cleaning bin and put the wash cloth rag in. "Although I don't know when that would be, but if you go, I'll definitely be there," Aaron said, snapping his fingers then made the gun sign. Not to be mean, but as a pointer, something cool. "Did you ever get your shoes?" Aaron asked Melrose.

Melrose blushed. "Well good! I could always use you around. A party just isn't a party anymore without Aaron Murphy by my side." She leaned off the mop and proceeded to hook it onto the cleaning cart, seeing as there really wasn't much left to mop. She bent over to grab the bucket of water, it was kind of heavy, not to mention icky and gray. As mush as Melrose was a professional cleaner now, the nasty bucket water never failed to gross her out.
"Oh and yeah! I totally did buy the shoes. A few days ago. I can't believe you remembered!" Melrose was pleasantly surprised Aaron had paid so close to detail. "They're really cute too. They're black Versace heels. I should show you some time. They were totally worth it." And they so were. The newest addition to her shoe closet was by far her favorite.

Of course Aaron remembered the shoes. How could he forget about the shoes? It was something Mel wanted, it was her goal. He was happy she changed her mind about staying at Pizza Planet. He liked to think he played a part in that decision. Melrose was passionate about her shoes, she wanted the world- well, Mel wanted Aaron to see them at least. "I would like to see them," Aaron said. Shoes weren't his favorite, I mean, when were shoes ever a guys favorite? He didn't want to break Mel's heart about not wanting to see them, although it's not that Aaron didn't want to see them, he'd rather see Melrose wear them rather than her showing them.
Okay Aaron. Be a man. You had an idea come to mind, put that idea to work. Be a man. You watched Mulan. Do it. "Um," Aaron's palms were sweaty. He thought he was going to pass out. Maybe this was a bad idea. "Rather than you showing me," oh god, he felt as if he was about to puke, "maybe you can wear them onadatewithme" the last part splurged out. Aaron couldn't run. He was stuck in place, looking silly and scared.
