Mykel sighed softly, slipping into a booth ahead of everyone. "It's nice here." He said, trying to pull his smile back.

Tari walked in behind Mykel and slid in next to him,"Yeah it is, their food is pretty awesome too", she said, smiling,"You okay, you seem a bit..down."

A sigh. "Yeah, I'm fine, Tari." He mumbled, dragging two sparks along the table's surface, the smaller of the two vanishing, and the larger broke into five before following suit and disappearing.

Tobias followed next. He motioned for Mel to take the inside seat of the booth. "After you Miss Melrose."

Melrose's heart skipped a beat. "Why thank Mr. Tobias." She slid in the booth feeling rather light on her feet now.

Mykel mumbled something, pulling out his iPod quietly and offering an earphone to Tari. "You like Green Day?" He asked, trying to distract himself.

Melrose yawned, feeling a tad tired. "New York City! The big apple." She replied, proud to be an authentic New Yorker, "How about you? Do you live by Oceanside, at all?"

"I'm from Nevada," Tobias replied to Melrose. "New York huh? That's pretty cool."

"Geez. Thanks! What part of Nevada? It must be scorching hot. I can't even imagine!" She was doing pretty good with the chit chat. Just as long as the face was out of the way.

She accepted an earphone,"There old stuff yeah, not much of a fan of their newish stuff. What bands do you like?", she asked, putting in the earphone.

"I'm from Las Vegas actually. It is really hot during the summer," Tobias quipped. He tapped his chin and thought. "It makes the weather here feel really cold... How's New York?" Tobias asked as he focused on Melrose again.

"Hey! You tap your chin too!" Melrose tapped her chin to copy Tobias, "I do that all the time when I think." She gave a small laugh. And then she saw his face again. Geez.
"New York is cold. Big. Crowded. But Home, nonetheless."

"You have really nice hair," Tobias remarked, absentmindedly. He shook his head and averted his eyes. "Sorry, that was kind of random," he apologized. "Was any going to order food?" he asked, trying to change the subject.
