"On a more interesting note, fights in the arena are open for you to sign up for. Simply fill out the application in the Arena and once a partner is available either Headmistress Maria or I will tell you. To get ready, there is a practice room in the Arena. Inside is also a sparring area, this is the only place besides the arena where you should be using your powers in an offensive manner. Also, all prefect positions have now been filled. I'd like to congratulate Penelope Greene, Nicholas Warner and Melrose Marshal on becoming prefects for their division", she looked over her notes quickly,"And I think that's about it, I hope you all enjoy and learn a lot this year", she smiled and nodded to Maria, letting her know she could end the assembly.

Penelope sat towards the back of the auditorium, listening fairly closely to the speech, though she found her mind wandering at times. She did, however, perk up when she heard her name and smiled a bit.

Headmistress Maria stepped up to the microphone for the last time, wishing that she did not have to tell the students what she was about to. "As most of you know, there is a room on the fourth floor at the back. This room is strictly forbidden to all students and staff members who do not wish to die an extremely painful death," she took a breath in as she looked out to the many faces of her school. "Inside of this room is something... sacred, if you will. Sacred," the paused, "but very, very dangerous. The mere knowledge that there is something there puts you all at risk..." She gulped, regretting saying anything at all.

"There are people in this world who do not approve of us- people with abilities. Many of them call us 'Mutants'," she grimaced at the name. "These people will do anything that they can to take away our powers and abilities. There are several safe-houses distributed across the world, and Oceanside is one of them. But tonight, I must remind you that each day, every hour, this very minute, even, dark forces attempt to penetrate these safe havens. But in the end, both their greatest enemy and their greatest weapon remains you."

For the second time during the speech, Lia heard the room on the fourth floor mentioned. She turned her attention from Pacman to listen closely. The warning's sounded serious, but Lia couldn't help but wonder what really was behind the door. A beep from her phone brought back Lia's attention. She swore under her breath, looking at the screen. She had forgotten to pause, and the red ghost had managed to take her last life. Figuring that the assembly was almost over, Lia shut her phone and put it in her pocket.

"Nevertheless, treat Oceanside as not only a school or a home, but as a sacred place where you can always find strength and protection, for there is no better place. Thank you, and I look forward to a wonderful year," she finished. "Please return to your dorms quickly and quietly, you have ten minutes before curfew. Goodnight." Headmistress Maria stepped down from the podium and left with Annabella, trusting the students to find the way to their dorms in time.

Penny took a deep breath after Headmistress Maria was done, for what she had just told them was pretty intense. Penny thought about going to the Headmistress' office, but figured she was probably busy, so Penny stood up and headed to Houdini Hall.

Samantha raised an eyebrow. 'Why do they even want to hunt us down?', she thought. 'We've done nothing to them.' Sam still had dark thoughts of the room on the fourth floor. She looked at the Headmistresses, and still wondered what was in there. Why didn't they just get rid of it, somehow? She sighed and leaned back in her chair. She stood up to leave the auditorium.

Vergil stood along with everyone and moved out after Mykel, hugging himself as if cold. He didn't like Headmistress Maria's tone when he spoke of the forbidden room of the school nor the fact that even that all of them knew there was something there made them vulnerable. Something that grave could only spike the curiosity of many. He unwrapped his arms from himself only to hug the tome to his chest and continue out.

The mention of the forbidden room only piqued Zesend's curiosity as he found his way through the crowd of students who were also leaving the auditorium

Hmph. James let his chair down with an audible thunk, and got up. Curfew, classes, and trips to the city. But that room...they were so adamant that they stay away from it. Perhaps this room would be worth visiting at some point. He'd have to convince a few others students to do it with him. Smirking he slipped his phone into his pocket, making his way through the crowd to the doors. Interestingly enough, they had given him all he needed for his hobby of choice. Rule breaking.
