Professor O’Connell.
( The Basics )
( Full Name) Stephen Clive O’Connell.
( Age ) 64.
( Birthdate ) 13 December.
( Sex ) Male.
( Hometown ) Athenry, Galway, Ireland.
( Subject ) History of the Gifted, History of the Mortals.
( Played By ) Malcolm McDowell.
( Their Power)
( Ability ) Animation {Professor O’Connell is able to bring inanimate objects to life or to free an individual from petrifaction}.
( Type of Power ) Manipulation.
( Weakness ) Only temporarily can Professor O'Connell animate the matter. Larger sized objects require more energy and usually tire him significantly afterward. Naturally, the professor cannot perform his gift whilst injured or tired without great difficulty.
( Good vs. Evil ) Neutral. He acts as a hero for the students; yet was a villain in his more ‘youthful’ years.
( Personality )
Before the man became a fully qualified professor; he was part of an organisation founded by people with gifts. Their aim was to reach world domination through their abilities. After the organisation floundered and most of the founders died; Stephen realised that he must use his gift to help establish the future. Through the youth of humanity. Since then; Professor O’Connell has been educating the gifted for approximately 20 years. Throughout his lifetime; Stephen has studied many subjects. Yet the topic that he finds most fascinating is history. He has no children or significant others as of yet, and most likely never will.
( Little Details )
( Strengths) Professor O’Connell is extremely intelligent. He knows many facts. Another strength of Stephen’s is that he is indifferent to emotions. He has never had any proper romances; therefore does not know the passion and feeling of even love.
( Weaknesses ) The man is selfish and ignorant to how others feel; which may mean people dislike and plot against him. Professor O’Connell is manipulative and sly. He will say things to people to get his own way, yet they are masked by emotions to realise this at the time. Stephen’s ripened age leaves him weak and frail at times, yet he masks this so people do not think he is weak; although it is quite obvious to the simple person.
( Dark Secrets) The students don’t know about his past; and he prefers it that way.
( Reputation ) The professor is respected among everyone. Most people listen to his advice and words when he gives them out, which is on very rare occasions.
( Teaching Style ) Professor O’Connell is calm and relaxed in his classes. He does not feel the need to stress over the students. If they do not want to learn, that is their loss. Although that is the case, Professor also naturally uses techniques that the students find fascinating. He is charismatic and therefore the teenagers are interested in his classes. It is through his ability to animate drawings, deceased people, objects, substances, etc that Professor O’Connell likes to teach his lessons and get the story across in a memorable way.
