Melrose almost choked. Not sure exactly what she was choking on. But she definitely choked. Geez.
"Yeaaah. Pizza Planet. It was miserable. But this guy named Aaron helped me out." She tried to regain her composure while stalling. How does one put it? Yes. Yes. I like Tobias. I like Tobias a lot. But I can't. I have no time? His face is beautiful though? What. no.
Melrose shifted in her position, staring up at George Clooney as if maybe he'd give her the answer. Come on, George, help me out here. It was especially tense because of the possibility that Lyra might be crushing on Tobias. And Lyra was Melrose's roomie as well a great friend. There was no way she'd let something this silly come between them. Boys always get in the way. So how does one say it?
"Like him? Tobias, right? Well, ah no. I shouldn't is what I mean." Her eyes burning into the George Clooney poster, "I find him to be very attractive. I doubt he notices though." Rolling back on to her stomach to face Lyra, "I mean boys would be a distraction."

"Yes, Tobias is very attractive," Lyra agreed with Melrose and her face frowned and puckered. Why did she agree? Other than the fact that it was true, Tobias was very attractive, puberty and entering high school and body development, it was a great thing. Lyra had memory flashbacks about middle school and freshman year when her mom would say "Tobias is a cutie! How come he wont ask you out?" Ohh hearing that was so annoying. Lyra would always reply by: avoiding the question, groaning, yelling that she doesn't like him, yelling that she's like a brother... it was just a weird topic in general. I mean, yes, they went to dances together in previous years but that was just as friends and nothing more. Slow dances were awkward and Lyra would always stop halfway through and start giggling, then later on reflecting after her teenage mood swings, wishing she never did that... oh being a girl, full of distress and worries and regrets.
"Doubt he notices that he's attractive?" Lyra was unsure of what Melrose meant. "TK doesn't know that he's attractive. Or do you mean that he doesn't notice you? If he talks to you or compliments you, I'm sure he notices you," Lyra said. "He's big on hair."

Melrose gave a small smile. Bad idea. She shouldn't have brought it up. She wants nothing to do with Tobias and now here she was, talking to hist best friend about him. Why? No. Why? And then Lyra mentioned something about hair. Wait a second. Melrose had a flashback.
In-n-Out, right before the four of them were about to leave. Tobias said she had really nice hair. Oh my god. HE LIKED HER HAIR. Melrose quickly shut herself up, in case she started squealing like a school girl, beside the fact she was one.
"Hair? He did say I have nice hair." She shook her head, "But look, if you have a thing for him. I understand. He's your best friend." Melrose put directly out there, "I'm just being silly. He caught me off guard. I don't have time for boys, you know?" Geez.

Lyra's eyes widen and her mouth formed into a frown. Her face was used to that expression for that conversation "Have a thing for Tobias?" Lyra snickered and shook her head, "no. TK and I could never be in a relationship," Lyra said with a small shrug. It was true, they couldn't be. She had a great friendship with Tobias and an actual... romantic relationship would ruin everything they have if they broke up, so why ruin a perfectly good thing? But Lyra didn't need a defense, she just didn't have a thing for him. Just over-protective because she knew things that other people didn't.
"You're not being silly," Lyra said. She got off her bed and started to walk to their small bathroom to brush her teeth. The water was running and she got her toothbrush ready and walked out to the small hallway to look at Melrose while she brushed her teeth, "yush but some peepahl have time," Lyra said.

"Some People?" Melrose watched her roomie brush her teeth. She rolled back onto her back, staring at Mr. Clooney yet again. "What I meant was the situation is silly. Tobias barely knows me. He seems dense anyway." There was relief in her voice. Lyra and her wouldn't have to worry about a boy between them. That's good. It was still odd though, talking to his best friend. It was probably the next best thing. Or worst, depending on how one looked at it.
"You wanna go out today? Anything planned?" Melrose changed the subject, giving her knuckles a crack. She didn't want to keep touching the subject in case it was awkward for Lyra. Besides, staying in the dorm for too long gets stuffy. Even George Clooney was starting to look.... old.

Lyra went back to the bathroom to wash her face. "I don't want to force you into anything," Lyra called. Besides- why should she try to persuade Melrose into pursue Tobias? It wasn't Lyra's choice. Oh well. Lyra respected Melrose and she wouldn't want to hear Melrose obsess over Tobias if the two did go out.
"Sure!" Lyra exclaimed, walking out of the bathroom. "I have nothing planned so doing something today would be nice!" she smiled, "I'll have to shower first though. I feel gross."

Melrose smiled getting up from her Clooney watching. "How does the beach sound?" She really had a love for the beach now, ever since the pier and what not. Something about it was so peaceful that she never got to have in New York. "I'll get dressed while I wait for you!" Melrose added, looked down at her pink pajamas. It had been one of those days. Those days when you only wear your pajamas all day. I'm sure one knows the feeling.

"Sounds good!" Lyra agreed. Even though they were going to the beach, Lyra still needed to shower. After doing that business, Lyra took her swimsuit that was hanging from the shower rack and put it on. She walked back into the room and threw on a dress over her swimsuit. "I was at the beach yesterday but I didn't swim. I think it will be nice to swim," Lyra said.

Melrose grabbed from the closet with one of her red sundresses. As she brushed her hand up against one of her jackets, she felt a slight vibration from one of the pockets. Wait a second. Could it be? Melrose reached inside to pull out none other than her runaway blackberry. Sneaky little guy.
"Lyra! I found my phone! It was on vibrate." She unlocked the buttons, expecting a text from Miles, but instead she found one from Tari. Apparently there were some people down at the beach from Oceanside. What luck! Melrose clicked a message back to her friend, turning to Lyra. "Looks like we got ourselves a party already down there. Tari just texted me, inviting us." She spoke with a smile.

"Oh yay!" Lyra cheered and clapped her hands, happy that Melrose found her phone. "I'm glad you found it!" she exclaimed. Speaking of phones, Lyra picked up hers and put it in the beach bag. "Let's start heading out now? We don't want to get there when everyone is leaving," Lyra said as she walked to the door.
(short post, yay. um, just post at the beach now?)

"Agreed." Melrose grabbed her belongings as well a white, light cardigan. Following her roomie out the door, she closed it behind them. (To the beach! Let the posts continue there!)

"He's so stupid!" Lyra growled and she slammed her phone on the bed. "Ugh!" Lyra buried her face in her pillow, wanting to scream. If she muffled her voice, it would sound like anyone who was normal yelling. There was no point in trying to take her stress out. Lyra flipped over and her fists banged on the bed. Why was she getting so worked up over Tobias' text?
Oh yeah. It was because he replied with noise words and never answered a question about hanging out. If he didn't want to hang out, he could of said he was busy. Lyra shut her eyes and sat up straight, looking back at her phone and she lay down again, staring at the screen with a frown.

After notifying the RA that Ethan would be coming up, Lyra already had the door ajar so Ethan could enter. It was reverse day today. Rather than going to his room to find him in his pajamas, Lyra was in her pajamas. Well, she had to wear pants this time. She wore pale violet pajama bottoms with white pinstripes and a white tank top. She needed to talk to Ethan, but first she had to come up with a real reason other than "it's important."

Ethan poked his head through seeing that her door was already propped open. "Hey, Lyra." he said stepping in, this time he was wearing jersey shorts and a loose shirt, "What's up? Want me to close the door or?" Ethan motioned to the door and back to her.

"You know what I want," Lyra rested her head against the wall, her eyebrows raising to Ethan in a suggestive manner, "nah. Leave the door propped open. I don't want to get in trouble," Lyra said. Lyra motioned to her chair by her desk. "I uh, " oh crap. A reason. "I just want to talk to you, that's all," Lyra admitted up front. Better than making something up.
