When it comes to relationships, Zola is very selective; her trust issues don't help either. While she is extremely outgoing, she will rarely form lasting relationships, be they romantic or merely friendships. She does, however, have a dark side; Zola has been known to use her abilities for less-than-legal purposes.

"Okay, so let me get this straight - you think that I am ruining your marriage?" Zesend paused a moment to give his father a nasty look. "Did it ever occur to you that maybe there's just something wrong with your marriage? Not every bad thing that happens to you is my fault, you know."
Harrison Rowe sighed in exasperation. "We can't handle all that weird crap you pull. Teachers at your school are complaining of strange things appearing when you're around, and they say several kids have had mysterious 'psychotic breaks."
Zesend rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say, dad." He brushed the older man off, walking out the door with his leather jacket and shoes on. He reached for a cigarette, and lit it while bracing against the Indiana cold. Taking a drag, he sighed when his father came walking out the door after him.
"Are you smoking?!" Harrison yelled.
"Yep." Zesend replied, taking another drag of his cigarette, but he stopped walking and turned to face his advancing father. When he saw that the man had an extremely angry look on his face, Zesend's eyes narrowed a little bit and he clapped a hand on his father's shoulder. Harrison suddenly had visions of snakes - the man was incredibly afraid of the creatures - surrounding him, their hisses taunting him. His eyes began to bulge, and when Zesend let go, Harrison just stared in fear.
"They were right, you have to go." He paused a second to swallow. "I'm sending you to a special school, where there's all kinds of... special people, just like you." The emphasis on the word 'special' may as well have spelled out 'freak,' but Zesend merely stared in return, continuing to puff on his cigarette. "You leave tomorrow."
