( Personality )
Usually troubled in the mind, and pretty much closed off to a lot of the world. He has his reasons for being this way, though.
He feels emotions strongly--very strongly. He doesn't usually show his them, though, leaving him with a stony appearance most of the time.
He can act. He wouldn't have been able to pull off this emotionless look without his ability to act well enough for people to believe him. It doesn't mean that he doesn't slip sometimes and allow a flicker of emotion to pass through his features occasionally, though. And it also doesn't mean that he never loses control of himself, because he does. Rarely.
He does have a sense of humor, and talks back to teachers during class and whatnot. He often skips class to smoke. And with his personality and seeming attitude about school, no one would guess that he's actually quite the intelligent young man in school, with one of the highest grades in his grade, actually.
He is a bit arrogant, in a way, and quite a narcissist; as long as something doesn't really have to do with him, he doesn't give a damn. But he's not arrogant or vain to the point that he'll go around telling everyone how great he is in comparison with them.
As for friends, he has few that he would consider good friends.
With the friends that he has, he enjoys spending time with them like a regular teenager. But there are only very few of them. It's hard to gain his trust, and even if one had his complete trust, he still wouldn't confide in them completely with his entire life story. He didn't feel a need to let others be bothered with his problems.
However he may seem, he can be a complete gentleman, especially toward the ladies. He doesn't seem to care at all, but will keep doors open for them, always walk on the side of the sidewalk closer to the road, and hurting them, especially physically, would be the last thing he would want to do. He would really need a good reason to hit anyone, and a very good one to start a fight. But then again, he would do it on impulse if he's angry enough to lose control of his emotions.
Some people are intimidated by him, but he's actually a real sweetheart if they got him to open up to them.
He doesn't talk much and usually will not initiate a conversation, but if somebody talks to him and tries to make conversation, he will respond.

(Sample)
A cool breeze fluttered the wings of leaves, allowing a quiet riffling sound to echo throughout the park. A boy sat beneath one of the trees, earphones stuffed in his ears and a book laid out across his lap.
A leaf detached from its mother branch and drifted down to lightly graze the boy's face, startling him from his nap. Piercing blue eyes blinked open from behind the messy black hair that hung in front of them, and the gaze immediately glanced to the watch on his left arm.
“Shit, I fell asleep again,” he muttered, snapping the book closed and unplugging the iPod earphones from his ears. He hastily wrapped the earphone cord around the iPod and jammed it into the pocket of his black leather jacket.
He was supposed to meet up with some friends at his house, and then go to a party together. But he thought he had had a few hours to just get out of the house and relax—away from his family members and other people. He liked having some time to himself. But falling asleep poses a problem.
Now, if the meeting had been arranged at his friend’s house, then it wouldn’t have been as much of a problem for him to show up late. However, seeing as it was at his house… Well, his friends probably arrived to find out he was out of the house and left without him.
Strolling home, the boy thought, Just great. A night I could’ve been out having a great time, I'm stuck at home with my worthless family.
