Casey Griffen Thompson
( The Basics )
(Full Name) Casey Thompson
( Nickname ) None as of yet.
( Age ) 17
( Birthdate ) April 1st
( Sex ) Male
( Hometown ) Portland, Oregon
( Class ) Junior
( Sexuality ) Heterosexual
( Played By ) Ryan Lacarne
( Their Power)
( Ability ) Shapeshifting. Casey can shapeshift into any kind of canine, though it must be both a real breed and real coloring. When in canine form he can talk to other canines, but not to humans.
( Type of Power ) Physical
( Weakness ) He's effectively a werewolf in his regard to the moon. When it becomes full, he must shift into a large version of whatever form he held last and his mind is reduced to a purely instinctual mindset. If he is prepared for this he can occasionally control this form well enough to stay away from humans and in very rare cases, stay calm. When he is very injured the same thing happens.
One of the most dangerous parts of this weakness is that whatever emotions he felt while human will be heightened. For example, hate causes an attack on the one who caused the feeling, but love can shield one from being targeted at all. As well as his size increasing, his physical power does as well, making attacks on those he dislikes twice as dangerous.
The only safe way to stop him is the cliched chains in an isolated room method.
( Good vs. Evil ) Undecided
( Personality )
Casey is extremely outgoing and can occasionally be more than a little vain, though its mostly internal. He thrives on sarcasm and has one of those, "You either love me or you hate me," kind of attitudes. He loves to pester people, something not exactly smart in a building filled with gifteds, and tends to be more persistant than he should.
Somehow chivalrous, opening doors, pulling out seats, and other such outdated behavior. It has gotten him slapped on numerous occasions by girls who thought he was making fun of them.
He's never really cared what people think of him and tends to blow off insults and threats. His power is both terrifying and wonderful to him, as it's power and freedom have a nearly addictive quality.
He loves people and solitude equally well, and tends to be rather high strung.
Actually likes school but has little to no interest in sports, though he has stated before, "I'll join if the right people ask me, but I won't be hanging around longer than needed."
The only things he truly hates are unfounded arrogance, unfaithfulness, and math.

( Little Details )
( Strengths) He's cheerful to an almost annoying degree and may play the fool, but is actually very smart. Great runner, possesing both speed and endurance. Was taught sword-play and gun handling by a crazy uncle, and proved to have a steady hand and careful eye. Very perceptive.
( Weaknesses ) Is terrified of hurting people to an almost irrational degree. During the three days leading up to and following the full moon he is skittish, easy to anger, and more forward, whether that be for better or worse. Even his appearance takes on a rougher edge, leaning closely to the form he used last.
( Dark Secrets) Killed a man many years ago when he first learned of his powers. It drove him mad with guilt and he may not have come out of it without his uncle. NEVER speak of it. If he tells you, he trusts you with his life and truly cares what you think.
( Reputation ) None. He is simply the cheery new kid who tends to avoid contact around the full moon, though few put two-and-two together to reach this conclusion.
( Family)
( Mother ) Lana Thompson. 49. Tenuous. Is afraid of her son and doesn't believe that he has powers because he will not show her. She thinks Casey is crazy and the main reason she sent him to Oceanside was to get rid of him.
( Father ) Marcus Thompson. 54. Thinks his wife is being irrational and wishes that she could understand. Pretty close to his son.
( Siblings ) Mikayla Thopson. 15. Student, works part-time at the local bookstore. Has shown no sign of any gifts and regards her brother with the usual amount of sibling rivalry.
( Any Other) Uncle Steven Gray. Marcus's half-brother and the man who played a large role in raising and taking care of Casey. Can talk to animals, though he keeps it secret from the entire family.
(Sample)
This piece has nothing to do with Casey, but instead features Kenyon, my were-fox on another site. Casey's personality and character was based on Kenyon, though only very loosely. In this sample, Kenyon is on a date with a pretty shifter girl named Duci. Both are probably in love, though neither has realized it yet. I thought it would be a fun post to share, so enjoy! xD
Kenyon looked up as Duci spoke. Before he registered her words he noticed her posture, the haunted look in her eyes. The shifter placed his menu on the table and reached across to gently take Duci’s hand, giving it a slight reassuring squeeze. “I have spoken of this to him before. He cannot control it, nor can he read your thoughts. You are also free to look into his eyes, as it happens only once, and never again.”
Kenyon gave a soft smile, “I personally have always called it a soulgaze. He looks into who you are as a whole, but cannot discern the small details. Your thoughts are safe; it is only your personality that he knows. But his power is a two-way window. You saw who he was himself, correct?”
Kenyon frowned, and started to pull his hand away, stopping as his palm covered only her fingers. Holding Duci’s hand was nice, but if she did not want the contact, he felt she should be allowed to pull away without feeling ashamed. “I’m sorry that he frightened you.” The shifter added softly, looking up into his companion’s eyes. “I’m so used to the man that I forgot to warn you so that you might have avoided it.”
Kenyon looked around at the ethereal beauty of the small square before turning back to the other shifter. “I’ve heard rumors that his mother was a powerful Fae woman, though nobody knows what kind. I even asked him once, if there was any truth to the stories, he only smiled and told me that I was being nosy. Perhaps that is why he is powerful.”
Kenyon fell silent, letting himself relax into the sounds of the night. The crickets, the fountain, the music. It was so familiar, yet so baffling, so mysterious. He was terrified, but excited, happy yet nervous. Was this what it was like to fall for someone, or was he only being carried away by the beauty of it all?
Duci seemed very different as well. She showed emotion now, was obviously frightened by Lowell’s search. Though perhaps the most troubling thing was just how much his kindness seemed to surprise her. Was her life really so devoid of people who would treat her as an equal?
Kenyon’s curiosity became too much to bear, and he found himself speaking again, much to his embarrassment and slight dread. “Are you okay? You seem… Troubled, surprised almost, and not just by Lowell, by me. Am I making you uncomfortable?” The shifter’s eyes flicked down to where his hand rested on hers, his expression almost worried.
