Carson sat up, her DS sliding off her chest. She had zonked out earlier than she had imagined. The exhaustion from the sparring match had set in quickly. She looked around. The room was clear of odor, the windows were open, and the fan was on. But Cora was still asleep. Artemis was gone. Could she have been the one to air out the room? Carson grunted and fell back, letting her head flop against the pillow. Today she felt like going swimming. Once Cora was up, she'd ask her if she wanted to tag along. She'd also stop by the dining hall first for breakfast, and if anyone was there that she knew, she'd ask them to join her as well. There was a pool here at the school, but the ocean was just minutes away. Salt or chlorine? It didn't exactly matter to Carson, although she had had her heart set on trying surfing while she was here in California. So maybe she'd hit the beach.

Cora awoke a while later. The room was completely odor free. She smiled and got up. Carson was sitting up in her bed, staring into space. "Hey. Are you cold? I opened the windows and cleaned the mess..." she trailed off.

Cora didn't wait for Carson to respond. "I'm going for a walk on the beach and then to the Dining Hall," she said instead, then went to the bathroom to change into capris. She came out and put the jeans back, grabbing her flip-flops along the way. She slid them on and walked out the door.

Cora enter her room, beaming. Artemis and Carson were there, but Artemis slept soundly. She rolled her eyes before rummaging through her bag. When she was done, she whipped out a journal with a paisley cover, and shuffled over to one of the three desks, fountain pen in hand. She writes to her sister, Jess, in that diary. She got the charming book for her thirteenth birthday, along with six others. Cora pressed her hand to the page and wrote,
Dear Anna, I have used my powers today. I have not idea I could do that. Well, except for when I got the neighbors to get a divorce...but still. I can't wait to get all the voices in my head away from me. They can drive any girl, especially me, insane. -Cora
Cora shut the book and tossed some pictures on the desk.

Cora entered her room, which was beginning to hear up. She shut the windows and put the AC on low. She liked the silence in her head. She could think. Maybe that's why she left. To may people to please. But Cora was a social person. This would not do for long, that was positive. She walked over to her dresser, pulling out her earrings. She waggled her fingers, making her birthstone ring glimmer.

Carson entered the room, grabbing her swimsuit out of her duffel bag; a black halter-top bikini. Over her bottoms, she slid a pair of white board shorts with black graphics and designs. On top, she tossed on a black t-shirt just as a cover-up. She grabbed her towel and left in a hurry. She wanted to have enough time at the beach.

Cora watched as Carson raced around the room. It wasn't a bad idea. Sure, she had already been, but she wanted to swim without having to travel. Cora pulled on her tankini. She flipped on a flowy sundress as a cover-up, sliding on her sunglasses. She lathered on some waterproof sunblock and slid some spear clothes in her tote with a beach towel and a book. Cora ran out of the room, seeing why Carson was in a rush.

Carson came back to the room later on. She had left the beach when the sun started to set. After she'd left, she'd walked around town for a little while, just sight-seeing. Now, she went to take a nice hot shower and wash the remnants of the salty ocean and seaweed off of her body. After, she changed into a comfy pair of baggy black cargos, a sports jersey, and a black zip-up sweatshirt. She thought for a moment. There was a fight tonight. And this time, she knew who it was. Nefertari and Artemis. She wasn't really rooting for a single person. Nefertari seemed nice enough, even though she'd KOed her sparring last night. Artemis was a bit edgy, but funny and she didn't have a problem with her. Plus, they were room mates. Carson shrugged to herself. She didn't have to pick someone to root for. She could be a neutral spectator. She grabbed a cold soda from their mini-fridge and headed for the arena.

Cora awoke at quarter of seven. She slapped her head back on her pillow, away from the glowing red numbers. Everyone here slept until noon, but not Cora. She was up and ready before the sun rose. Cora sighed and fell asleep once more.

Artemis walked inside the room dropping her keys. She was to tired to function. The bonfire that night was so long. She could barely keep her eyes open. Art pulled her hair out of her pony tail as she fell on her bed. "Uh" She said barley able to speak. She yawned looking to see Cora and Carson asleep. It was 2 in the morning. She got under the coveres as she lay her head down and dozed off to sleep

She said raising her brow. She went and looked for a swimsuit. She found a two peice as she slipped it on. Artemis walked down to the pool.

The last two days were a blur for Cora. She slept through them, for what she could remember. In the past, she had always been waking up every few hours, staying awake for a hour, then falling asleep. So a nice, long, deep sleep was what she needed. Cora looked around the dorm, her eyes coated in sleep. She groaned and threw herself down again, her breaths heavy.

Cora awoke at seven thirty. She shifted under her covers before getting up to brush through her matted blond hair. She ran the brush through it, puling out all the tangles one at a time. She hated her hair color, and always wanted it to be brown. Cora shook her head. She would probably mess up. Her stomach growled. she was craving gummy bears. Cora quickly got dressed and ran out the door.

Cora was hungry. She gorged happily on the food, crumbs landing everywhere.

Carson awoke to her phone in her pocket, vibrating from a new text. Yesterday she'd slept all day long, like her room mate. A day of sleep couldn't really hurt, yet she was feeling really drowsy right now. She went to get dressed. She slipped on a pair of Tripp cargo's, in hopes that the ever familiar clink clink jingle jangle would be enough to keep her awake. She threw on a red graphic tank top, and flopped back down onto her bed, phone in hand, listening to the "jingle-jangle" of her pants.
