Cora rolled over in bed, opening her eyes to the sunlight. Blinking, she gazed at the slit in between the drapery. She sat sat up groggily and stood. Rise and shine, Cora, she thought, hobbling over to her desk chair and grabbing her indigo dress and her gray cardigan. She slipped up a pair of ballet flats before she stopped. She didn't need to be up. It was Saturday. Kicking herself, Cora shimmied back into her pajamas and pulled her comforter over her head. Maybe she could fall back to sleep. "Damn it!" she mumbled unhappily from her dark den. "Good job, Cora!"

Carson flopped down onto her bed and sighed. Just a little more time until summer vacation, and then she'd be free again. Not that it matter, since there practically wasn't a soul attending this school that even cared about her existence... 'Aw, shut up. Since when do I give a damn 'bout what anyone thinks of me?' She told herself. 'I don't need these deadbeats to have fun, I can do that on my own!' Though, she wasn't entirely convincing herself. Carson plugged in her ear-buds and turned the volume up to its maximum on her iPod. Blink182 blasted from the player. She sat there on her bed for some time, gazing up through the dull ceiling as if it weren't there at all. She wasn't concentrating on it - she was concentrating on her own thoughts.
