Finally after climbing the many stairs, Toshie had made it up to the top of the tower. The skies were cloudy and the moon was blocked from her line of sight. She sighed as she leaned over the railing of the tower a bit precariously. At least classes have been easy so far. Then again it was only the beginning of the year. She hung her head in exhaustion, wondering why exactly she had even come up there anymore.
Oh yeah, to calm herself, but from what? From tests and exams that were coming up? She shrugged and exhaled deeply, inhaling just the same. She kicked at the ground beneath her as she wrapped her jacket around her a bit tighter.
What? It was really chilly tonight. Then again, Toshie's always cold.

Three creative non-fiction articles and five pages of French workbook pages out of the way, Rhys left the short remainder of his homework to finished after a walk around ... wherever. Glad he took his long jacket, he buttoned it up to keep warm in the chilly night air. It was cloudy, which meant the Oceanside sky was the ugly orange and white mix of city lights that he hated. Frowning, he saw the tower silhouetted against the orange and decided to climb up for the view.
Reaching the top, he was surprised to see someone else. He recognized her quickly though; he was somewhat used to seeing everyday in class, anyway.
"Don't stand too close to the edge," he warned, "Wouldn't want you to fall," he added jokingly, walking over to stand next to her, looking out.

She looked to see that Rhys was now next to her. Why was he here anyway? It's like he'd been neglecting to even say hi to her. He always left her hanging too; to be quite honest, she was rather irritated about that.
"And what if I did fall?" she didn't look at him, she kept her gaze down towards the ground as she spoke. "What then?"
God, she sounded to emo tonight. It's not that she really meant to, Toshie was just generally curious. What would he do if she just fell off right here and now? Would he be able to keep her from splattering the ground with his telekinesis? Probably not. Either way, it's not like she'd just willingly throw herself off the tower; that's stupid.

Rhys pursed his lips; Toshie was annoyed and he knew why. He breathed in, turning from her to look at the ground from where they were atop the tower, thinking of a response. "I'd have to catch you, then. And hold on to you," he said, still looking out. "God forbid I just leave," he added, turning to her again, "Like... I have been lately," he admitted apologetically.
Rhys lightly touched her shoulder. "I'm sorry I've been so absent lately," he said, "I promise I'm staying this time, though," he added with a light smile.

"God forbid I just leave..."
Those words resonated in her mind. She frowned at the thought since that's basically what he's been doing lately. He was just like that, just up and leaving all the time. Toshie shrugged his shoulder off and kept staring straight out.
"Please don't just read my mind like that," seriously, why did he have the urge to do that all the time instead of just asking? "It feels like an invasion of my privacy." She clenched onto the edges of her jacket, since the sleeves were way too long for her.

"It doesn't take a mind reader to know what's wrong," he replied, taking his hand back and leaning on the railing with his palms. As if a measly apology or two would do anything, though, really, he thought, looking out at the city beneath them.
Hoping to lighten the mood a little, Rhys changed subjects. "How has class been for you?" he asked, still looking out, as well.

Toshie turned to him, looking him straight in the eye. "You know I can sense when you're eavesdropping in my mind though." She closed her eyes in thought, rubbing her temples to try and relax. Why did this bother Toshie so much anyway? It's not like they were super close or anything. They just had a lot of classes together... and made out-- drunkenly though.
She sighed and looked at Rhys again, "Look, it's late, we better get back to the dorms and get some shut eye." Not actually knowing the time, Toshie made way for the exit, pausing at the doorway to turn and look at the boy again, "It was nice talking to you, I guess."

Artemis made her way up to the top of the tower. Zipping up her jacket she closed the door behind her looking around. Thankfully she was alone. But then again she had been alone for a while now. Not very many friends cuz she acts like a stuck up bitch every once in a while.
She has been anti social ever since she got out of the hospital and Nick passed away. He is gone...and im alone. Pathetic She thought to herself. Making her way to the edge Artemis lowered herself behind the bar as she let her legs kick out over the side.
That would be a long way down. A tear ran down her face as she shook her head. "Im not cut out for this" She whispered to herself. "Im not ready to be this Super...someone who is anti social...hates everyone Im to nice for that but gah I hate them..there too Nice" Shaking her head her eyes were red.
Inhaling deeper she leaned up on the bar looking up to the stars. Everything seems right when she first came to Oc...but now. Now it was like everyone turned there back on her. And could she blame them? Noah, gone. Nick, Gone Tobias, Gone. Penny...she never sees her anymore. Tari psh...not even. Who else was there with her? Artemis looked at her hand. Her ring gone still missing. She didnt even care anymore. "Some times I wish a scientist would find me..."
Standing up Missy took hold of the bar behind her stretching herself out looking down. Inhaling Artemis closed her eyes as she out stretched her arms.

Tobias, out of breath, reached the top of the tower. His breathing came in ragged gasps and he was sweating despite the cool night air. Eyes darting back and forth, TK searched the tower until he finally saw her. Tobias had been looking for Artemis for the better part of the last hour. He tried to straighten up his appearance a bit before approaching her. Tobias fixed his hair that had become messy as he ran around and tried to smooth some of the wrinkles out of his shirt. Now that he wasn't running around madly, Tobias shivered in the cold air. Maybe, if he was lucky, Artemis would warm him up? He slowly moved towards the girl and put on a smile. "Hey, Artemis, I've been looking for you," he casually said. "I wanted to ask you something."

Keeping her eyes closed she inhaled letting one hand slip off of the bar. About to manipulate the wind to see if she could catch herself she heard a voice. "Tobias!" She called almost letting go and falling.
Catching herself she inhaled clinging to the bar. "You scared the crap out of me" She almost barked at him. Slowly stepping over the rail she stopped and starred at him. She handt seen him in a while. "You look cold" She let out a small giggle.
Stepping forward she heard him say he needed to ask her something.Oh god whatever it is I didnt do it She thought in her mind placing her hands on both sides if his arms. Inhaling she radiated heat throughout her body seeing as Tobias could use a blanket or...her. Shaking her head she smirked looking up to him.
"Uh" She cleared her throat. "Yeah? Whats up Tk?"

Tobias watched Artemis carefully. He was running through the situation again and again in his mind.
I'll say this and she'll say this and then I'll smile and laugh and...
He felt a wave of warmth spread from Artemis. She was always good at warming TK up when he was cold. Tobias felt his courage rise, but still felt uneasy. He lowered his eyes and spoke in a soft voice.
"I wanted to ask you... I wanted to see if you maybe wanted to go to homecoming.....with me?" Tobias threw up a weak smile and looked up to Artemis. He shrugged. "Yeah..." Now he just waited for an answer.

Is Tobias ok? He looks like he is going to die She thought in her head. She wondered why he was hesitating so much...and why on earth was he up here looking for her in the first place.
Hearing him she stopped and looked at him. He was wondering what? Taking a step back she looked at his charming weak smile. Was he sick? "Tobias" She said hiding her own smile. Just one second she was going to jump then the next Tk was asking her to homecoming?
"Tobias" She repeated again her face flushing as she looked away. "I would..." SAY IT already She pressed her lips to a line. "Yes" She sort of blurted out. Wow that was harder then it looked.

Yes?
It sounded like 'yes'. Was it a yes? It must have been 'yes'.
Tobias's face broke into a grin and he nodded triumphantly. "Okay, great," he replied, happy. "So, we'll go together. It'll be fun."
Now, Tobias was in a great mood. Sure, he was exhausted from running around, but at least it had been worth it. He continued to smile, glad that he got a good answer.

Did she just say yes? To Tobias?
Yupp she sure did...With a large smile on her face she nodded as well. "Yeah it will be a blast" She said putting her hands in her pockets. Her heart was beating even faster then ot was when she almost fell off of the tower.
So no jumping for he tonight. Pressing her lips to a line she sort of walked to TK and wrapped her arms arpund him giving him a hug. Letting go she shook her head.

Johnny tip toed his way up the stairs. Of all places to go, he decided it would be best to let off some steam at one of the more secluded places of the school. Looking around, he saw that the coast was clear. Opening the door, he then made his way out, gazing up at the sky. Leaning against the railing, he then took a deep breath and smiled. The air was so nice in Oceanside. For once, it didn't smell like sulfur and diesel fumes. Looking out, he can see that the horizon was now filled with wide open spaces. Sure the concrete jungle known as Hong Kong could be beautiful in its own sense, but it still felt cramp and suffocating.
Turning around, he then leaned back against the railing, his arms propped up by the metal bars. Reaching into his front pocket, he pulled out a box of Mild Seven brand cigarettes. Bringing the rolled up tobacco to his lips, he then lit the cigarette and exhaled smoke. He was definitely long over-due for one as he spent the few days traveling, filling out paperwork. It wasn't really until today he was able to let the dust settle and just kick back.
Exhaling smoke once more, he then turned around and looked out at the horizon once again. Looking down at the school ground below him, he took another drag and continued to watch the students. What was more therapeutic than relaxing on a comfortable spot, people watching?
