The hidden library room could not be in use because it would look suspicious if two people were walking in the hidden room. Lyra held the key (Derek had one too, but Lyra opened it first) and opened the door, flipping on the light switch. The fluorescent lights flickering before fully lighting the room. She set her bag down on a table and sat on the same one. "Did you get the budget for home coming yet?"

Tossing his bag over to a counter, Derek shrugged. "We basically have an unlimited budget. Especially with Ethan's drawing skills." It was true, if Ethan could make anything come to life, it saved a lot of money. "Besides we can always take money from the breakfast club or something."
Derek started to flip through his Student Council inbox, "Ugh, we still have to pick a theme for homecoming, don't we?"

"We have to pay for catering," Lyra replied towards the comment about Ethan's drawing. He still wasn't great at making food. Tasted too much like paper. Ethan did have a talent and they could go the distance with themes. Lyra felt bad about using Ethan for decorations, but he knew what he was getting into. He signed up for the position. "Maybe the breakfast club can find- no, do we really need catering? People can just eat at a restaurant. We just need drinks and photographers. As for theme- yeaah we do," Lyra kicked her feet, "maybe have a voting system?"

"This is Homecoming, not Prom. Drinks and photographers should be enough. And crap, are we hiring a DJ or do we know anybody that can decently use a turntable?" It was about a month until Homecoming, and they didn't have any of this figured out. Part of it stressed Derek, along with everything else (like his sister being in a coma and all). "Eh, I don't think we'll have to worry about the budget. The headmistresses always seem to have more than enough."
Thinking back about the theme, Derek frowned. If people started to vote they'd end up choosing something like a furry theme to the chagrin of other students. "I think we might have to pick this one. At least until we get a better system in place. Do you still have the list of ideas?"

" I know Derek, I know. That's why I corrected myself, well, at least I thought I did," Lyra said, she shook her head. Her mind went back to last year's prom when she went with Tobias as friends. That was a pretty fun night. "I think we should hire a DJ," Lyra said, "I think it would be cheaper and the only person I could think of who could play music is Jamie, but that's with his powers. A traditional dance with a DJ is always nice," Lyra sighed, looking up at the ceiling. Dance planning, it was always fun. Before she replied to Derek's idea about the theme, she went to a different topic, "homecoming court: do we have the sashes?" those were important. "But I agree. We should pick the theme. Students will pick something dumb like..." she searched for a stupid theme, waving her hand around, "like um... movie couples. That's more Sadies, not homecoming."

So a DJ was on the checklist too. Derek would have to search for one in his spare time. "I'll see if we can come up with a decent playlist for the DJ also. Don't want him playing "Party in the USA" at our dance," Derek joked. "I was about to order the sashes, but I realized I wasn't sure what color we should have them in. Obviously the King and Queen's have to be different though, a special color."

"I don't want them playing Cupid's Shuffle either. That song is dumb," Lyra was not joking. Considering about the racial percentages at Oceanside... African American's and Asian's... Mexican's too.. there weren't a lot of them. Was TK Asian? Lyra was in thought. But get out of it Lyra! StuCo time! "We can't do red, blue, or green. None of the house colors. Once we pick a theme, we'll try to pick colors for that dance. But I'm thinking white for King and Queen?"

Derek shrugeed. "Probably with gold lettering to boot." There was so much to plan, and Derek checked the clock. It was getting late. "Here, lets call it a day for now. We'll work more when we get more people. See you later Lyra." Derek picked up his bag and gave Lyra a quick wave before stepping out.
