“Baby! I know you're asking me to stay! Say please, please, please, don't go away!” a voice sang through the halls. Who did this voice belong to you might ask? Oh, just Joni Barker, female of 18 years, a new senior in a new setting. No biggie. As she walked through the halls of the building, she pondered slightly on what her year would be like. I really, really, really, really hope that no one tries to split me in half. Yes, she was a little - well, more like a lot - traumatized by the fact that her mother and father had tried to split her in two (quite literally), but hey! It was a new day, a new age, and she didn't have to worry about them anymore! ...I hope. Her parents liked to pop up at times and quarrel over her frequently. It was a bit unnerving to Joni. She wasn't some shiny, new toy to be played with! Oh no! She was woman! Hear her 'ROAR!'.
Finally, after what seemed like forever, she found the dorm marked in big, bold numbers '607'. “Well,” she said with a huge sigh, her chest rising up heavily, then falling slowly. “Here goes nothing...” Fishing her key out of her pocket, she heard the epic sounds of choir voices and bells loud enough to wake a country. Using her sound manipulation, she took the sound from her mind and made it real as she went to unlock the door. Click. Click. The manipulated music came to a slow stop as she opened the door, peaking inside for any other signs of life. “Hellooo?” she called loud enough for someone to hear. “Any other form of intelligent life? Or maybe just life?” Hey, not everyone was considered 'intelligent' in life's big book. You couldn't always assume with things like that, ya know? Feeling a bit bummed out that she didn't have a roommate, Joni half dragged, half carried her belongings to an empty room, closing the door behind her in the process. Well, she thought, perking up a bit as she moved along. At least I get first pick, OH YEAH!
With a new found hope, Joni quickened her pace as she stood analyzing the room on the left. Of course, they were plain due to the fact that no one was living in them, but there were factors she was looking for! Call her picky, but it was just in her nature to do so. “Hm,” she said, her hand coming up to stroke at her chin as she pondered. “Which room? Which room...? This sounds like a job for a quick game of 'Eniee Meenie Miniee Mo'!” With a solid nod, she let go of her bags as she went about with the childish game of chance. Pleased with what she got (the room on the left), she proceeded to drag her belongings into the room, and unpack. Posters went up, bed-spreads were placed neatly and firmly on the blank, fluffy mattress. Blue lava lamp was plugged in, along with her other electronics and lamps. It was practically perfect. With one last glance, she grabbed her cell phone, her favorite pair of glasses, the dorm room keys, and a map of the school before setting off on a self-expedition. The time to explore was now! WHOO!
