Hana dropped her stuff off at the television room, since she hadn't been assigned a dorm room yet. "Tch..." her hand went to her side, feeling the warm wetness of blood leaking through her shirt.
Shit, I guess they did hit me she thought as she recalled the trouble of getting here. Luckily she was able to lose the people chasing her. She made her way to wherever the Infirmary would be.

Feeling bored, both because she had nothing to do and no one to do so with, Kyra made her way to her dorm's common room hoping to find something or someone (preferrably both) to entertain her. However, when she entered the common room it was empty. She stood in the doorway for a while, in mental debate whether she should try looking outside, then moved in and dropped onto a couch. There was a remote for the tv close at hand and she surfed for a bit to find anything interesting, but settled instead on playing a music channel on low volume. Ditching the remote, she reclined against the couch and dug into the left-side pocket of her typical pair of jeans. She came out with a tangle of string moments after which, she proceeded to dive right into the standard task of separating the string before she could do anything with them. A simple process, but absorbing enough to draw her focus for a minute or two. Maybe after she would go out looking for people.

It was so unrealistic sitting in the lounge room of the Hercules Hall. Lyra needed to talk to Melrose about getting a television with cable so Lyra didn't have to come downstairs to watch television. She felt so dirty sitting on the couches. Lyra was texting her sister and set the phone at the side of the couch. Lyra felt the seat vibrate and looked for her missing phone. Crap! Where was it? Lyra reached between the cracks of the couch cushions to find it then heard a plop! "Crap," Lyra groaned. She got off her seat to try and push the couch so she could reach for her phone since the space from the ground and couch wasn't big enough for her hand. Lyra tried to push the couch but it failed. There had to be weights in the legs of the couch or something.

After a nice work out at the gym, Aaron opened the doors to the Hercules Hall. He was greeted by fellow friends and classmates and he felt bad greeting them with bro fists and handshakes, feeling gross and sweaty. But real men didn't care about that. But hygiene was important to Aaron. With his towel that he brought he wiped sweat from the back of his neck although the cold air of Oceanside seemed to freeze off any sweat particles. Aaron was on his way up the stairs to shower and clean off until he saw Lyra struggling. "Need help?" not much of a hello but Lyra seemed distress about her situation. Eith Lyra was weak or it was impossible to move the furniture. "I got ya," he said. He went to the side of the couch, his arms grabbing undeneath the couch, fingers barelly fitting through the space. He took a breath before hoisting up the couch with ease (although Aaron pretend that it was somewhat of a challenge). "There you go," Aaron said, no strain or struggle in his voice. After Lyra picked up her phone and a five dollar bill she spotted, Aaron set the couch back down, letting go a little too soon that made a small dent in the ground. Meh, nobody would notice.

Melrose sighed loudly as she took the elevator down to the Hercules Lounge. What a long day had it been. So much homework, so little time. She still had a Spanish packet to finish, not to mention study for the test tomorrow, but as of right now, Melrose could care less. She needed some space from schoolwork. She needed a breath of fresh air.
Turning the corner down the hallway and into the television room, Melrose spotted probably two of her favorite people in the world. Lyra, the fantastic roommate, and Aaron, the incredibly cute fellow employee. What perfect timing.
She casually shuffled her way over to the two, pulling her earphones out and shutting off her ipod.
"Fancy seeing you two here!" Melrose greeted cheerfully.

Sniff. Sniff, sniff. Ah crud, I'm getting a cold.
Holden Marshal rubbed his nose vigorously with his right hand, while balancing a strawberry grande smoothie in the other. He tripped through the entrance of the Hercules television room, feeling a distinct change in temperature from the heat outside. It'd been a pretty swell, average day. Except the whole loud sniffing he had to endure during the English test today. So embarrassing man, so embarrassing. And it wasn't like it was any better to get up and blow his nose. That was loud and obnoxious in itself. You just can't win with a cold. You just can't.
Melrose recognized the sniffing, coughing, and choking coming from behind her. She wiped her head around quick, as if to glance at the action happening in the corner of her eye. Realizing it was the baby brother, she grinned and couldn't help but shout, "Holden!"
She turned back to her two friends, realizing they had yet to meet the baby Marshal. Oh this night was just getting better and better.
Holden sniffed again which inevitably causing him to choke and cough again. He bit on his green neon straw and took a huge slip of smoothie before heading over to his sister and pals. "Heeeeeey." He dragged out the greeting, feeling awkward not to mention curious as to who these other students were.
"Aaron, Lyra. I'd like you to meet my baby brother, Holden. Holden, these are two of my greatest friends, Lyra and Aaron. Holden, Lyra, Aaron. Lyra, Aaron, Holden." Melrose repeated their names back in forth in a proper introduction.

"Oh thank you so much Aaron!" Thank goodness for Aaron. Lyra would have been nothing without her phone. "Thank you thank you thank you!" Rather than hugging Aaron, she held the phone close to her heart. Oh sweet phone, sweet sweet phone. Melrose came down the stairs, "oh hey Mel!" Lyra waved to her roommate, "glad to see you out of the room!" it was common for Lyra to see Mel out of the room, she would eat lunch or dinner with her if the time called.
Melrose introduced her and Aaron to her brother. "Oooh 'nother Marshal?" Lyra shook Holden's hand, "very nice to meet you, Holden, interesting name," she commented. It was meant to be a compliment, not anything mean or rude but it came out the wrong way.

"It's no problem Lyra, really," Aaron laughed lightly as he spoke. Lyra spent too much time with Melrose, both of the girls overreacted with thanks that he didn't deserve. He was only helping a friend, nothing more. Speaking of Melrose, she appeared and a grin appeared on Aaron's face. "Sup, Mel?" Aaron leaned on the back of the couch, watching her gracefully (although Mel wasn't the most graceful girl, she was one of the cutest) walk across the room to the group. "It's the common room, probably a common place to see each other?" Aaron shrugged at his awkward comment.
Holden Marshal? Melrose had a problem? For a second he thought Holden was Miles. How was Miles doing? He hoped Mel's cousin was doing alright. He'd ask Melrose about him later. After introductions and shaking hands, Aaron firmly shook Holden's, "nice to meet another Marshal," he said, "do you two have the same powers?" Aaron asked in curiosity.

Holden smiled and nodded as he shook each student's hand. He took another long slurp of his smoothie and he rocked back and forth on his heels. Melrose and him shared far too many typical Marshal ticks.
"Thanks." He addressed Lyra's comment. Turning to answer Aaron's question, Holden suddenly realized who in fact this guy was. This was Aaron Murphy. The Aaron Murphy. The Aaron Murphy Miles went on and on about. The Aaron Murphy that his sister is totally hung up on. That Aaron Murphy. It had to be.
LOLZ.
"Actually no. You'd think though, right? I've got X-ray vision actually. And laser eyes. Though I prefer to not use them." he tapped his thick framed glasses and took yet another slurp of the smoothie. "How about you guys?"
Aaron Murphy. Oh man, this was great.

Wandering into the common room for her house, Kyra tossed her bookbag on an open couch before dropping onto it herself. Today she wore plain blue jeans with a medium blue T-shirt and simple gym shoes. Her bright hair was tied back, mostly out of the way.
Entering the room she'd walked past a group of people she didn't recognize, but she still didn't know anyone yet so it didn't bother her. Two of them looked like siblings and she somehow knew they all belonged to this hall, the same as her. Music playing in her ears, she hadn't caught any of the conversation but it seemed the younger boy didn't know anyone so it must be an introduction. But it wasn't any of her business.
Instead, she opened the zipper on her bag and pulled out a classbook with papers stuck between various pages. Her own filing system despite what teachers in her old school said. Using the last paper as a bokmark, she flipped open to the page before digging out a pencil to finish the half completed study guide.

"Specially designed glasses?" Aaron figured, since Holden motioned to the thick rimmed glasses. "Did you make them? he was curious. Maybe because Mel was there he felt comfortable asking questions but he never met anyone with laser vision. X-ray vision maybe, but who would admit that? It sounded like a bad pick-up line. Holden asked about his powers. Aaron held the back of his neck and rolled on the back of his heels before planting back on the ground, "I have super strength," he said, "and I don't call this much of a power, but I'm acceptionally good at leaping-slash-falling with style," Aaron said. He wasn't sure of what to make of that power, if it was one.

"I'm like a siren-banshee," Lyra replied to holden. She crossed her legs and her arms, not wanting Holden to see any of her goods. Yes, Lyra flattered herself by thinking that Holden would use his x-ray vision on Lyra. Lyra was the hot roommate, right? The hot StuCo president, right? The hot senior chick, right? RIGHT?! Lyra clarified her description of her power, "I can scream and I can break stuff, confuse you, put you to sleep, stuff like that," Lyra said, putting her hands at her side, her worries washing away.

Holden nodded. Those were some legit powers.
"Those are both really tight!" he complimented them both with a grin.
He watched Lyra crisscross herself like a pretzel, whatever that was supposed to mean. Maybe she liked to stand that way. Though Holden quickly turned his attention back to the "heart-throb" formally known as Aaron, or whatever. He was a big guy. He looked like he was made of stone or metal.
"Oh no, it's not the glasses." he corrected lightly, "It's my actual eyes. I'm just terribly near-sighted, or far-sighted, I forget." He took off his glasses and blinked a couple of times. The whole room turned into what looked like a watercolor painting. "Though, I think it's both." Holden quickly returned his vision and laughed, playing with his smoothie straw. "Kind of ironic, yeah?"

Melrose nodded as her brother further explained his gift. She watched Lyra try to conceal herself, and couldn't help but stifle a laugh. Every girl always did that whenever Holden introduced himself. It was just comical because it flew straight over Holden's head every time. She often wondered if he had ever considered the thought of it. Poor Holden. Two steps behind everyone else. He'd always been. And he always will be. At least on the whole dating, girls vs guy level.
Her eyes drifted to Aaron. Cute Aaron. Geez. "So you two going to homecoming?" It was an honest question. And besides Lyra was on Student Council. She practically was living for homecoming right now. That, and well.... it was a somewhat topic of interest as to if and with whom Aaron would be going. Like... yeah.

"I totally get that!" Lyra exclaimed, a little to excited. Her eyes lit up and there was a huge grin on her face, "I totally understand the irony!" Or at least, Lyra liked to think she did. "I have super human hearing," Lyra said, pointing to her left ear, "it kind of goes along with my banshee scream but I hurt myself when I use my own power, but loud noises give me headaches so I can never go to concerts or clubs unless I have super powerful ear plugs," Lyra said, doing some sort of emphasis on her hands as if she was angry. "So, I totes understand with the whole, oh-i-have-cool-eye-power-but-my-vision-sucks-deal."
And to answer Melrose's question, "yeah, I have to go," Lyra said to Melrose. Was it wrong that Lyra felt bad that she wasn't going with Tobias? I mean, she was thrilled to go with her boyfriend, Ethan but poor TK... stupid bitch Tari turning him down. Lyra was going to rip her head off in student council that little slut.
