The Plot general;;
For hundreds, if not thousands, of years, the gifted have roamed amongst the normals. We keep our powers secret from them, mostly because it'd be too difficult not too. If word got out about our powers, and more importantly how our powers are powered themselves, chaos would erupt. Prosies, the normal people, would want powers for themselves. They would run tests to try and get powers for themselves- powers that they aren't fit to control.
the gifted agency;;
To keep things in order, one person from every continent is elected to make up the Council of the Gifted. We all report to them. They make the rules, and they keep us safe. There is also the Gifted Court of Law, in charge of law enforcement in the gifted world. They hold trials for gifted lawbreakers, and help the Council make and amend laws. Below them is the rest of the G.A., or Gifted Agency. The various departments within the Agency do different things, all of which help the gifted world run as smoothly as possible.
the generators;;
For as long as our powers have existed, so have the generators, or orbs, that fuel them. These generators look like miniscule suns, about twenty feet in diameter. There are multiple things that can happen when one comes in close contact with a generator. For someone who's gifted, the following things can happen: - They die
- They lose their powers
- They lose their powers and then die
- They gain powers
- They gain powers and then die
- Their powers become stronger
- Their powers become stronger and then they die.
For prosies, the following things can happen: - They die
- They gain powers
- They gain powers and then die
In conclusion, don't touch the orb.
the safe-houses;;
Oceanside School for the Gifted is one of many Council-appointed safe-houses distributed across the globe. In each one of these safe-houses there lies a generator. Each generator is a specific color, Oceanside's is electric blue. Not every safe-house is a school, like Oceanside is, some of them lie in warehouses, or underwater. While the locations and types of safe-house vary tremendously, each and every one is heavily guarded, hidden, and protected from the Prosies.
the prosies;;
As hard as we all and the Agency try, there are still a few Prosies that know about us ('Prosie' being the term for a non-gifted person), and the ones that do are either A) Jealous, B) Scared, C) Conspiracy Theorists, or D)Some or all of the above. There are groups of them that spend every minute of every day searching for the generators.
the powers;;
Our powers are what truly separate us from the Prosies- without them, we wouldn't be gifted. There are three categories of powers: Physical, Mental, and Manipulation. Most gifted people have no more than three powers, and they are generally all within the same category. Descriptions of the categories are as follows: - Physical Powers: These are powers that affect the personal, physical body.
Some of these powers are but are not limited to: Accelerated Healing, Invisibility, Flight, Superhuman Reflexes, Superhuman Senses, Superhuman Strength, Night Vision, X-Ray Vision, Wallcrawling, and Waterbreathing.
- Mental Powers: These are powers that take place in the mind.
Some of these powers are, but are not limited to: Omni-linguism, Superhuman intelligence, Precognition, Telepath, Empathy, Mind control, Memory manipulation, and Possession.
- Manipulation Powers: These powers may be manifested in various methods. They are Physics or Reality Manipulation.
Some of these powers are, but are not limited to: Animation, Elemental Transmutation, Gravity Manipulation, Immortality, Mass manipulation, Time Manipulation, Elemental Manipulation (Air, Ice, Earth, Electric, Fire, Plant, Water, Weather), Energy Manipulation (Force Field generation, Energy conversation, etc.), Transportation, Summoning, Time Travel.

Welcome Speech Welcome to a new year at Oceanside School for the Gifted. I'm Headmistress Annabella, if any of you need to contact me you have my number posted in your common rooms. Now, I hope you all enjoyed your vacation and are prepared for the new school year, or as prepared as you can be. Now, Headmistress Maria is going to be giving you some information about the school. Oceanside School for the Gifted is a school for particularly gifted young adults. And we're not just talking gifts in mathematics or art. Every single person on this campus has a gift. An ability. Something that makes them... super.
For four years, each and every one of you gets to spend a good amount of time each day learning about your powers. Some of you have Physical powers; powers that affect your personal body. They may enable you to walk through walls, hear miniscule sounds, or even fly. Some of you have Manipulation powers; you may be able to control the elements, or bend time and space. And some of you have Mental powers; You can see the future, or understand anything in an instant.
Yes, each one of you has a power. A power that makes you super. And since 1935, Oceanside School for the Gifted has helped house, train, and protect young people with super abilities.
There are to be no drugs or alcohol on campus. No pornography on the premises, or anything as inappropriate. Any damage to school property that you cause must be compensated for. Being rude to any of the staff members is not in your best interest. And of course, going near the room at the back of the fourth floor will get you killed, or worse, expelled. You all have been warned.
To those of you who are new or have forgotten, there is to be no use of your powers outside of school, unless a life threatening emergency occurs. By using your powers outside of school, you will be creating suspicion and may be the cause of this school being shut down. And of all of these students being taking and tested on. I trust all of you know to make the right decision.
You should all have received a class schedule by now. If you have not, or if you have a problem with your schedule, come find me in my office. Now, on your schedule you will notice that there are 8 classes per day. Unless you are ill or have another approved reason, you are required to attend all of your classes. Classes run from 7:15 AM to 2:45 PM, though most of you will start your classes at Eight O'Clock. Breakfast is served from 6 to 8 AM. Lunch is from 11 to 11:45 AM, and dinner is served from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
Save for those of you who only arrived within the past couple of days, I'm sure that many of you have enjoyed trips into the city. And that is wonderful. However, during school, you are not permitted off campus. This does not mean that after your last class you may go into the city. The hours that you may be in the city are as follows: Friday, from 2:45 PM to 10:00 PM. Saturday, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. And Sunday, from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. If you are caught out of school at any time other than those hours, you will be punished. Going into the City is a privilege, not a right.
Now, curfews. Every morning, you may not leave your hall before 5 AM. Sunday through Thursday nights, curfews are as follows: In your Hall by 9 PM, in a room of your gender by 10 PM, and in your room by 11 PM. On Fridays, Saturdays, and during vacations, everything is pushed back an hour. So; In your Hall by 10 PM, in a room of your gender by 11 PM, and in your room by 12 PM.
Remember, curfews are here for your safety, and disobeying them may result in something much worse than detention.
On a more interesting note, fights in the arena are open for you to sign up for. Simply fill out the application in the Arena and once a partner is available either Headmistress Maria or I will tell you. To get ready, there is a practice room in the Arena. Inside is also a sparring area, this is the only place besides the arena where you should be using your powers in an offensive manner.
As most of you know, there is a room on the fourth floor at the back. This room is strictly forbidden to all students and staff members who do not wish to die an extremely painful death. Inside of this room is something... sacred, if you will. Sacred, but very, very dangerous. The mere knowledge that there is something there puts you all at risk... There are people in this world who do not approve of us- people with abilities. Many of them call us 'Mutants'. These people will do anything that they can to take away our powers and abilities. There are several safe-houses distributed across the world, and Oceanside is one of them. But tonight, I must remind you that each day, every hour, this very minute, even, dark forces attempt to penetrate these safe havens. But in the end, both their greatest enemy and their greatest weapon remains you.
Nevertheless, treat Oceanside as not only a school or a home, but as a sacred place where you can always find strength and protection, for there is no better place. Thank you, and I look forward to a wonderful year.
