Weaver had been waiting near the entrance to Houdini Hall for around a half hour before he found someone to manipulate. The girl was not worth noting and Weaver knew she would never remember him. It was perfect.
"I really appreciate this. You're a lifesaver," Weaver told the girl with a smile.
She had agreed to deliver the 'school project supplies' to Tobias's room.
Weaver handed the small brown package to the girl and gave her a quick nod. He thanked her profusely before turning and walking calmly away from Houdini Hall.
People can be so naive. Pretend your grade is on the line and these 'hero sympathizers' are all too quick to help and make themselves feel good about their choices. A few good deeds don't make you a saint.
