"When I'm connected like this, I feel the hits too," Tobias told Lyra. He could have sworn she already knew this, but it wasn't a big deal to remind her. "Let's keep going."
The shadow nimbly danced towards Lyra, fists raised, ready to fight. It threw a right punch as a distraction then twirled behind Lyra trying to grab her from behind. The shadow couldn't get a firm grasp and instead melted into the floor and then quickly reformed back in front of Lyra. A low kick flew towards Lyra's legs, trying to knock her off balance.

Seeing the punch come towards her, Lyra's hands went towards her back so she could make her elbows touch, as if she created a small window to keep an eye on Tobias. But that was not the intention. "Huh?" Lyra barely found time to speak but then she saw the shadow slide behind her. As the shadow grabbed on to Lyra, she felt chills down her spine and her body shook as her back arched, waving her arms. It felt like goop. This did distract Lyra, she turned her head behind her to face the shadow but a kick swooped around her legs and she fell backwards , landing on her lower back rather than her head for impact.
Lyra arched her body, almost making a bridge before pushing herself off the ground in a launch, landing before the shadow and hitting her arm straight on the shadow's shoulder then another strike to the side of the shadow.

Tobias didn't react in time to block or dodge and felt the sting of Lyra's attacks. He toppled over onto his side and the shadow fell too. He quickly pushed himself off the ground and stood up, brushing himself off.
The next round of attacks began. The shadow propelled forward on impossibly fast legs and launched a flurry of punches at Lyra. After about eight lightning fast punches, the shadow swung a leg into another sweeping kick to hit Lyra's body from the right side.

Lyra tried moving back but the punches were coming into fast. She blocked her face with her arms so she wouldn't get hit but she bruised easily. After the punches Lyra's arms immediately fell to her side, throbbing in pain but it wasn't over. The kick hit her in the right side and Lyra fell over, her face buried into the mat. She coughed, mumbling something along the lines of Jesus to Tobias and tried to get up. She stumbled when she stood but took a deep breath. "Nice move," Lyra applauded Tobias as she wiped saliva off the side of her mouth.
The next round began, giving a point to Tobias in her mind as she moved forward and ducked in case the shadow was to swing on her upper-side for a switch of game. Lyra stayed on the ground, pushing balance on one hand as she swung her legs and kicked at the shadow's legs, rolling over to the side so the shadow wouldn't topple over her if he fell. She wasn't the best at balance-breaking.

Tobias laughed at Lyra. "Thanks," he told her.
The shadow jumped over Lyra and landed with a rolling tumble to quickly regain a solid footing.
"You missed! I'm over here," Tobias teased. He waved one hand so the shadow waved at Lyra.

Lyra stopped rolling and looked over at Tobias and shook her head and got up as fast as she could. "You're funny," Lyra commented before looked back at the waving shadow. She was getting tired, especially after the succession of punches. She shook her head and ran at the shadow, her hand almost ready to throw a punch but she span around 360 before extending her arm at the shadow to its neck.

Tobias was caught off-guard and consequently, so was Lyra's shadow. Lyra's attack connected with devastating force. The pain caused Tobias to sever his connection with the shadow. He clutched at his neck and knelt down while wincing in pain.
The shadow, freed from control, faded away as if it were never there. Slowly, Lyra's shadow returned to its normal state. It appeared in splotches as if someone was dripping water on the ground where Lyra's shadow should have been. After a few seconds it was back in place and nothing more than a normal shadow.

"TK!" Lyra heard his wincing and immediately turned around and ran to Tobias, kneeling down next to him and putting her hands on his shoulders. "Tobias- are you alright?" Lyra's head lowered so she could look at his face. She didn't notice the shadow was gone and back in it's rightful spot- she could careless right now.
"TK are you alright?" Lyra tried to move Tobia's hand away from his neck to take a look. She didn't want to hug him or harm his neck. She started to freak out, biting her lip and shaking, "do you want food?" Lyra asked as if she was speaking to a puppy. "I'll buy you a cheeseburger and milkshake..." food healed all wounds, especially with Tobias... or she hoped.

After the incident at the Cafe' Jamie needed some kind of way to calm down, Which made the practice room the obvious choice for his needs. Walking in adorned in sweats he set down a bag that held his bow-staff from his Karate classes.

Tobias's neck felt like it was on fire. He coughed and sputtered. It hurt to talk, but he managed to tell Lyra he was okay. "It's fine. Don't worry about it. I'll heal," he rasped. "I'll follow you. A milkshake might help."

Lyra kissed three of her fingers before putting those fingers on Tobias' neck. "Sorry about that..." Lyra apologized once again. She felt terrible for hitting him like that, although she was proud of that move. Lyra got up, helping Tobias as well. "Mmm yes, of course it will. My treat TK," Lyra said to Tobias before leaving the practice room with him to go to the city.

Carson entered the practice room and looked around. Just a few people, including Tobias who she'd met earlier. She scanned the room further and noticed Jamie was here as well. She looked down at her sneakers. The black suede was scuffed, and the laces were frayed. She glanced back up. She knew there was a reason she'd come here... and underlying, subconscious reason that she wasn't fully aware of. She blushed a bit. That was rare. Carson barely ever blushed unless she was really embarrassed. She thought about possibly sparring with someone, although she didn't quite know her own strength, or the strength of those around her for that matter. So she just sat on the dusty floor, her back against the wall, dancing a small flame from finger to finger.
She sighed. No one ever noticed her. And she often thought of that as a good thing. She didn't want to be a preppy popular girl on the top of the food chain. She wanted to be independent; her own person. But sometimes she just wished she was capable of attracting more attention; turning more heads. She was different, and she thought everyone could see that. But if they could, how come she seemed to blend in so well?

Taking out the five foot tall pole he swung it around getting the feel of the movements. After a few minutes of doing this he went back to his bag and pulled out a few plaster busts, just dummy heads for target practice. Jamie took them to a far wall and set them up walking back to his pole.

Spinning the pole he smirked taking aim as his hands started glowing green again the glow channeling through the staff and exploding from the tip destroying one of the busts.

Carson cocked her head to the side and silently watched Jamie train. She knew he didn't know she was there. She found his power intriguing. She wished she could learn more about it, but from what she'd heard, it seemed like he didn't even exactly know all about it himself. She stayed like that for some time, curled up in a ball in the corner, watching from the sidelines, trying not to be noticed, yet wishing she could be. Carson rested her head in her lap. She didn't know what it was she wanted.
