Tari stepped back, her eyes widening, she focused and tried to slow things down but one of the wolves things scratched her leg,"Son of a-", she cut herself off and tried to focus again, while being clawed at by those...things.
Time stopped, the wolves were paused in midair and she looked at Artemis,"I can't hold this for long, what the hell do we do?", she asked, panicking,"How do I get to safety? These things will chase me!", she looked at Rhys and the younger boy, wondering what they were going to do.

Vergil reached for the first two cards to offer themselves to him from the open deck, knowing very well the elemental would not lend a hand in anything. He threw them both in the air without looking to see who they were or what and punched each backside with the ring on his fisted hand, the cards freezing upright. In succession, he turned his fist and unlocked both, Flug being one of the ones to offer herself to the cause while the other was Das Schwert.
He spread both wings and glided forward to engage a shadow in combat, leading it away to slash at it with the sword he held while using a wing to shield himself whenever it'd lunge forward- flicking it to throw it back. Finding the wolves frozen midair came as a surprise, allowing him to look back if only for a bit to look around and take count of who was there and how they were.

Assuming he didn't have enough time to confirm whether his attack did anything to disable the shadow beast, Rhys began running towards the trio to better see what exactly was happening, anyway.
The night started out with frisbees, now park benches? Eh, a nice change of pace, I guess.
Artemis and Tari were trying to defend themselves from the beasts, Artemis lighting one on fire after being attacked and create a rift in the ground to provide space. Coming up from behind the group of shadows, Rhys mentally pushed against one of them, sending it into the opened ground.

Artemis inhaled as she tumbled back. She saw the wlf in mid air about to takle her again. "Tari" She said breathing hard. "Thank you" She quickly lookind around to see the others finally realzing the damsels in distress. She looked to tari. "Your gonna unfreez soon huh"S he said not panicking. She was a super. they were going to have to do this all the time.
"You need to get to high ground. Ill hold them off why you get to somewhere." She shrugged off her over shirt quickly tossing it to her. "Tie up your leg with this..DONT hesitate. We got this" She said turning to Tobias. She shook her head biting her lip hard.
Artemis twirled her ring a bit as she looked at the places each of the shadows where in. "Get behind me...When you unfreeze that shadow will run into me..giving you time to go. The boys will help." She said looking to her hoping it would work. Artemis had a hug gash on the side of her leg as well.
She eyes Rhys and Virgil...no idea what either of them were doing but they were helping.

Tobias finally brought himself back into reality. Chaos described the situation perfectly. He looked around, taking the whole spectacle in.
"Buy me some time!" he shouted to Artemis, Tari, Rhys, and Vergil. Tobias took a wide stance and extended both hands towards one of the shadow monsters. He concentrated with all his might, straining to take his shadow back. He would need the group to hold off the wolves while he exerted control over his shadow.
Despite the group's best efforts, however, if one shadow was decimated, a chunk of the one of the remaining shadows would fall off and reform the fallen beast.

She nodded at Artemis knowing her powers wouldn't be of much help in this situation, she caught the shirt and tore it,"Sorry", she said quickly, wrapping it around her wound and Artemis's. She got behind Artemis, moving her out of the wolf's way so she'd have some time. She felt the pressure in her head become unbearable,"Hope you guys are ready!", she called out, giving in and setting time back to normal.

As Rhys ran towards the trio, he experienced a strange visual lag. As if Tari and Artemis had suddenly "jumped" to their current positions from just a split second ago. Must've frozen time... they're hurt and Tari might be getting exhausted, he thought. He also noticed that they were bleeding slightly. Worried they might get hurt more, he tried to run faster, within 20 feet of them now.
Tobias appeared to come to his senses, asking for time to regain control over his shadow. As Rhys neared, he noticed the shadow crushed under the park bench revive and crawl out from under the metal, as well as the one he'd just sent into the fissure Artemis made crawl back out.
These aren't all that easy to get rid, huh?
The bench on the fallen shadow was standing on the ground perpendicularly length-wise. As the shadow began to crawl out, Rhys stopped running, holding his arm out towards the bench and briskly motioning as if slamming the ground, causing the bench to fall hard on the revived beast.
That's one down... Again

Artemis nodded. She yelped in pain when Tari touched her wound. She wiped her head a bit as she stumbled seeing Tobias. "im doing the best I can..Nice of you to join us" She yelled with sarcasm. Artemis nodded to Tari. "Ready as Ill ever be"
She then saw the shadow come back out of the riff as the one shadow launched on her giving Tari and Tobias some time. Artemis yleped as she hit the ground wrapping the shadow up in an air current. She saw Rhys there and tired to get up.
Slowly the ground shook again as a shadow fell int a riff she closed it up. Vines began to errupt giving Tobias time to get his shadow, the wolfs were fighting with teh vines that were now alive.
Artemis stumbled as her right arm was gashed and her ring kept slipping off.

Vergil hadn't been prepared for the sudden return to normalcy, barely catching the wolf against his wing to throw it again. He continued to keep the solitary wolf engaged, aware the wolf was trying to return to its pack while trying to snap at him.
"Feiger hund! Ich bin dein Gegner," he hissed to the shadow in a taunting tone to keep it distracted. When it lunged again, Vergil attempted to fling it off like always but it caught wind of the action now, using its mouth to take hold of the feathers and bite harshly. Vergil had to bring to wing in and stab at it to force it to release, feeling the pain travel up the feathers and down his spine. He couldn't throw it back anymore.
When the vines ensnared the wolf he had been entertaining, Vergil wiped the black substance off of his sword by sticking it into the soft earth and bringing it up. He looked around and went to the one who looked the neediest, frowning deeply as he took in the sight of Artemis. Using a wing, he wrapped it around her to protect her though it was useless now.

Angry at herself for not being able to help more, but knowing she'd only be a hindrance if she stayed there, she ran like hell for higher ground. She was clawed at by one of the wolves, she shot a couple jets of spiraling water and an air current at it, futilely trying to get it away.
She ran up to a couple trees, it was pitch black, she could sort of see what was going down below. The shadows shouldn't be able to get her here right? No light, no shadows? She slumped down on the grass, her head throbbing with pain.

Tobias shuddered as he felt his shadow's mind combine with his own consciousness. He fought the instinct to run and hide. Flashes of memories, of fear and pain, caused Tobias to grit his teeth and refocus on taking control.
One of the wolves, the one that Tobias was focused on, had stopped fighting and had become subdued.

Tobias fought off the shadow's cold mind. He had it now. A few more seconds. And... yes. As his friends fought all around him, Tobias let out a bellowing roar. He clapped his hands together in triumph.
In that instant, as his clap sounded, all eight wolves exploded into hundreds of tiny shadow-butterflies. They flitted around, swirling and dancing in the light. As fast as they had appeared, the butterflies disintegrated until only one remained. Tobias caught it in his hand and placed it carefully within his pocket. He would need to get a new vial for it.

Rhys saw that Tari had escaped, running to higher ground, holding her head and limping in favor of her better, uninjured leg. He flung one of the following shadows away from her.
"Artemis, are you ok?!" He yelled before Vergil protected her with a wing. He was so caught up taking care of shadows himself that he hadn't really noticed Vergil's powers til just then.
So those are his summoning powers... Looks like fun, he thought as he raised a hand to stop a shadow beast in mid-air, trying to tackle him... then suddenly, it blew up into countless shadow butterflies. He looked over at Tobias, who seemed to be in control of the situation now, reaching for one of the butterflies.

When the threat was gone, the sword in Vergil's hand stripped itself into silver ribbons and curled around in front of him, solidifying into the card once again; he thanked it under his breath and put it in his case. The wing he had curled around Artemis stayed.
The beads against the flesh of his arm hummed softly as if asking him a question to which he replied he was fine. It was just a few scratches that he had. If anything, Flug had taken most the damage whether he could feel it as if it were him or not.

Artemis was breathing heavily. She felt a warm wing type thing around her. It was Vergil. She looked up fatigued and barley breathing. She could fight more but only if she needed to. Artemis let out a hiss as her leg and arm stung with pain. She heard Rhys call out to her but didnt reply. She was worried on Tobias and the others rather then herself.
Artemis saw Tobias controling the shadows now. Artemis saw Rhys helping and Tari was safe. She toppled over. Artemis knew Tobias was in more trouble then her with his shadow but she could not stand. Earth was just to much. She inhaled as she felt the ground under her glad Tobias and everyone around her was safe.
