"That sounds like a great idea," Aaron smiled at the idea. Bonfires were nice, especially when smores were involved. "I think it is an excellent plan," he said in approval. He sat down on the sand, tired of standing.

"Good, I'm glad you think so," Penelope said, sitting down next to Aaron when he sat. "Are you much of a party person?" she asked him, not really remembering if he was at many parties last year.

"Uhh..." Aaron's voice was monotone. He couldn't say he was a party person... but he did go to them. He felt... obligated too. Especially a party where people with super powers were at... things could get out of control. "I go to parties," he replied, hoping that answered the question.

"That hardly answered my question," Penelope said, laughing. "Do you enjoy them?" she asked, hoping her question was a bit more direct now. She couldn't really see how anyone could not enjoy a party, but she supposed it took all kinds.

"Do I enjoy parties..." Aaron repeated the question and took a small breath. He looked up at the darkening sky. "I enjoy the conversations with people, yes. But..." he looked around for any potential eavesdroppers, "there's a lot to watch out for," he said, "I find myself working more than having fun at parties."

"Working?" Penelope asked, a bit confused, "What do you mean?" She wondered if Aaron worked for a 'Take back the night' sort of program. She also found herself working at parties, but that was usually because she was the one throwing them.

Aaron shut his eyes for a moment and took another deep breath. He never liked to admit using his powers. "People get crazy. I calm down their minds. Preventing boys from taking advantage over girls... calming the minds that ease them from letting themselves go overboard..." he said, avoiding eye contact with Penelope as he spoke. He picked up sand and let it ran through the cracks between his fingers. "For their safety, I do it."

"Well, that's good, I guess," Penelope said. She wouldn't tell him that she thought that part of the fun was going crazy. She believed, of course, that there was a limit, but anything up to that limit was fine.

"No it's not," Aaron said. "It becomes a burden almost... and I feel guilty. I know I have this power- this power to calm them. If I don't use it... I feel guilty. And if people know, I'll become the designated driver type. Except I drive their emotions, not their mind," he stood up once again and wiped the sand off of him.

"Then don't do it," Penelope said, for it seemed like an easy enough thing to do. Granted, she had difficulty controlling her powers, too, but she was still able to control them, and her powers seemed much more powerful than Aaron's. She looked up at him as he stood up, wondering if he was wanting to leave. ((Sorry for the late/short responses, I'm doing admin stuff, too.))

"But that's where the guilt comes in," Aaron said and pointed a finger upwards as if it was a counter for a point. "I know that I can stop their motives. And if I choose not to, I feel like it's my fault," Aaron said.

"That sucks," Penelope said. "You should try not using your power, and then if someone starts to get too out of hand, go in and make them stop or change their motives," she suggested. It seemed like a good balance between the two ideas.

"And that's exactly what I do already," Aaron said. He needed to change the subject. He knew that Penelope was only trying to help but it was nothing new he himself thought. "I think tomorrow I might go swimming, if the weather is nice," he decided as he put his hands in his pockets. "Yeah, tomorrow sounds like a swimming day."

"In the ocean or in the pool?" Penelope asked, looking up at him, curious. She hadn't been swimming in a really long time, but was scared that she would hurt herself.

Aaron stopped for a moment to think and tilted his head to the side. "Well, I thought ocean at first... but the pool sounds nice, come to think of it." Aaron said and held his chin in his hand. Hm. Penny really had him think. "I think I might swim in the ocean for a while tomorrow."
