Toshie opened the door slightly and peeked in, she hadn't checked out most of the town yet but this place looked like fun. And she saw people. It was a double-bonus.
Finally, she stepped in completely and stood there a bit awkwardly. It was people she didn't know. No, I need a fresh start! No more cowardice!, she thought to herself semi-confidently. "Ah.. ah.. hehro?" she said, trying to hide as much of her accent as possible.

Mykel clapped lightly, hugging Vergil when he returned. "That was really nice, man. You've got a damn good voice." He nodded, as though approving his own statement. Looking back, Mykel grinned and waved the newcomer over. "Hi, I'm Mykel, and this is Vergil. Are you a new Oceanside student?"

"Ah, uh, yes," she stepped a bit closer and smiled shyly, "My name is Toshie Makinami."
Toshie did a small bow and wave, "I just frew in this evening."

Vergil laughed again and returned the hug he received upon coming back to sit next to Mykel, he flushed a little when complimented but was ceased in replying when he saw a very lost looking girl. She was... cute. Yes, cute was the right word and he liked how her energy felt. It was soft, almost like a newborn's tender flesh.
"Hallo Fräulein Mahkeenahmi," he said to her gently, not wanting to frighten her, "Vilkommen tu Oshunside."

Mykel smiled as well. Sweet looking girl, she was. "I'm with Vergil on this one, welcome to Oceanside. Would you like to sing some karaoke with us?"

Toshie gave a bow and wave to the other boy as well, "Harro."
She perked up when she heard the Mykel-boy's invite. "Karaoke?!" she said, eyes lighting up with excitement, "I rabu Karaoke!"
Toshie ran over closer to them, careful not to trip on anything or knock anything over in the process. "How do we pick song?" she asked Mykel.

"Just flip through the book, point the remote here and press the buttons." Mykel instructed, still smiling warmly.

Vergil suppressed the giggle that wanted to escape when he saw her excitement. She was far too adorable for words along and made him want to do a little dance or laugh aloud with apparent joy. It was her energy, it was contagious. The beads on his arm gave a gentle hum that, like always, resonated in his core. He liked her.

"Ahmm.. okay! I think I have song. My accent go away when I sing for some reason." she said, smiling excitedly to Mykel and the boy he called Vergil. She got up onto the stage precariously and tippy-toed up to the mic, "Ah, harro. My name-eh is Toshie Makinami. I will be singing I'll Hold My Breath by Errie Goruding." Toshie adjusted the height of the mic so that it was at a comfortable level. Inhaling slowly, and exhaling calmly, she noticed the lights had dimmed and the music had started up. "Breathe air, you're not used to/ Tread floors, you don't fall through/ Make wave, you crash a symbol hard/ Follow no one, always play the wrong card," she sang, her eyes closed and voice light and airy. Toshie's knees trembled from the nervousness of performing. |

Vergil took a seat next to Mykel and watched Toshie like she did the older boy next to him. It was a very gentle song, and as sweet as the singer before them looked. He wondered if she had eaten yet if she flew in recently and then continued that line of thought to perhaps eating at In-N-Out with Mykel and Makimani, then to if either would want to anyway. He concluded even if they didn't, he'd go.

After a few verses, she started to get into the song. Her knees stopped wobbling and she felt more comfortable with the atmosphere. Toshie began to sway with the rhythm of the music and make appropriate hand gestures at different parts of the song.
She smiled as she sang the last part of the song, "Until you see me in your dreams/ We'll stay awake beneath the trees/ We'll watch the buildings turn to dust/ A sky of diamonds just for us"
The final verse was here, she took one final breath, "You are the risk I'll always take/ The only branch I'll never break/
Those fears we'll blow them all way"
It grew brighter as the song ended and she bowed to her audience, "Ah, thank you and good night!" She bounced off the stage delighted and took a seat near the two boys.

Vergil clapped once again and beamed to the young girl that hopped off the stage much like a rabbit does. She was practically glowing with happiness and feared it was spilling over the brim of her person and infecting him.
"That vhas vonderfhul Fräulein Mahkeenahmi," he complimented honestly, ceasing his clapping slowly.
The song book was tugged over and placed in the lap of Mykel by his own hand, "By ordhur, yu ahre uhp next deer vohn." He reached for the controller and placed it upon the book as well, smiling all the while.

Mykel stuck out his tongue playfully, quickly choosing "House of Wolves" by My Chemical Romance and typing it in. "Get ready to have your ears raped by my fail screaming." He laughed.

Toshie blushed and giggled softly, "Thank you, ah.. Behrjiru." She saw that Mykel had gone up to the stage and clapped. "Go go, Mykeru!" she said before the music started.
