I'm on my phone so I didn't get a awesome awesome view, but I like the simplicity. However the superman does not go well at all and the gold oceanside does not look good either.

I'm not voting but I think version two of version two is bangin' with the exception of the banner. That banner kills it.
It'd be a lot better, in my opinion, if there were no Superman and the speech bubble was a consistent oval instead or any other shape.
I'm digging the very clean feel to it and I must say - I like it without the sidebar though I'm assuming it's a necessary evil since that's where our weather is, the chat, and the like.
I don't know if you're keeping the background that tone but it's certainly easier on the eyes that this dark blue going on now. I enjoy that the majority of the fonts are san-serif and there's a nice sense of movement throughout the entire site; you can actually breathe instead of the claustrophobic feel there is to it now.
In summation: Approved. Most of the way.

Glad we agree on Superman babe but I think the gold would work if the background were a different color however I can see what you mean. Perhaps a nice silver? |

The gold looks better on the computer than it did zoomed up on my phone. The gold could work if there was something else that was gold like a border around the outside of the categories, but even then I'm not sure. Also the "Oceanside" is kind of pixel-y around the outside. I would try to feather the edges or just choose a font that wont have the white fuzz off of it.

I just used that banner because its what's available right now. It can easily be changed. What would you think of keeping the 'Oceanside' the way it is (maybe changing the colour), but changing superman? Keep in mind that this wasn't done for perfection- think of it as a prototype.
I also like it without the sidebar, and the chat can go below everything, so that might be a viable option.
I was planning on keeping the background that tone- at least for the default skin.
I'm having trouble getting the speech bubble to work properly with the other codes- so that might also go.

What would you change Superman to?
I wish it'd be a more... obscure, identifiable image. Something everyone can relate to but keep in tune with the entire hero/villain feel of the board. The concept.
I assumed it was a prototype since what we're voting on is layout and not finality. Once a layout is set, changing little things here and there is no problem. I'm all for the layout, against Superman, and Oceanside the way it is isn't half-bad. I would not be opposed to a different font and I'll certainly pull up suggestions.
The chat below or above would be tre' cool and the background isn't bad for a default skin though I think it'd look wicked swimming in black or even a star-filled background of a black sky if you're still attached to that idea from Oceanside 2.0 version one.
If the speech bubble went, I would have no complaints either.

I'm having trouble getting a cbox to fit in bellow. It works on top but it doesn't look too great. I'll get a screenshot for you in a sec.
I don't know what we'd change superman to, so if you have any ideas, please let me know. And in regards to font, Emily got that one from Dafont.com so if you find something there you like, let me know about that, too.

I'm surprised she got that from Dafont because that's where most of us go for our fonts. xD;; I think one of us can certainly brainstorm something neat to replace Superman if you're not opposed terribly and as for the cbox, if the sidebar ends up being necessary, it ends up being necessary. Font Suggestions are as follows since Lyra thought that comic book type fonts would be neat, since we're a super academy of sorts, and I agreed with the idea. Suggestion OneSuggestion Two(I'll edit as we go along with other suggestions if there are any) |

Personally, I really don't want a comic-y font. It just looks way too unprofessional in my opinion. And please do search for a replacement for Superman. We could always go back to what we had before- the three silhouettes outlined with the division colors, or something similar. Here's what I've got for the cbox. That's cool, we didn't know what you were going for. Cutesy or refined.
If you go back to the three silhouettes, it'd be cool revamping that too.
I like both, even if the lower one doesn't stay in the white.

If you guys did the silhouettes, I would re-do it completely. The whole shield and shadows were pixely and did not look professional at all.
