Gary picked up his daughter, Misty from school today after he was able to leave Oceanside. He hoped Riza picked up their son Ashton because the last time he checked Riza was picking him up from daycare. Holding Misty in his arms, he looked around the carnival which was set up nicely. "Did you want to get your face painted?" Gary asked his daughter, bouncing her up and down, waiting for a reply.
"Yeah!" Misty cheered and nodded excitedly. "I want to have a heart on my face!"
"You just want a heart? You don't want to be a zebra or tiger?"
Misty shook her head, "no, because then I can see my nose painted and I don't like that. And it tickles too much," Misty said.
Gary chuckled as he set his daughter down to walk to the face-painting station. He was glad that Misty only wanted something little. When she laughed, she had a gas fest so it was safe for everyone if she wasn't laughing like a maniac.

Melrose dodged and ducked her way through the herds of excited students and staff members. Everyone and everything was bustling with movement and business. It was rather overwhelming to say the least. However it was nice to see the school had such a nice outcome. Melrose couldn't be one to judge though, as she had missed out on all the other activities this week. She regretted it whole heartedly. But homework and testing was ridiculous in its mass this week and Melrose had no choice but to lock herself in her dorm and study till the wee hours of the night. It was murderous. Though with the week behind her, Melrose could finally see clear again and thought of the carnival as a way to award herself for all her commitment in the past several days.
The dance was tomorrow. She couldn't help but get butterflies. Melrose had picked out her dress in, like, July. Homecoming was something she never got to experience back in New York. Her high school had a "Fall Ball" but that was weak and rather lame to say the least. She had no date. Tobias had hitched a night with Artemis. It was expected though. I mean, she was no doubt disappointed, but have you seen Tobias? Come on, people.

Artemis walked around as she watched all the booths now all set up. It all looked pretty organized. Sitting down on a bench Missy figured she would maybe plan out what she was going to do...of look around a bit more see all the games a food. She knew she wanted to toss a pie...too bad Mrs. Riza wasnt there. Shivering at the name Missy sighed leaning back on the bench.
"Hone coming tomorrow, carnival today homework both days" Shaking her head she looked to the sky. Her thoughts wandered as music played in her head. It would be cool to fly.

Aaron tried to toss a ping pong ball into the blue plate to win a prize, but it bounced off the white, pointless place and plopped into the water. There went his third try... Aaron sighed, he was never good at this game but at least they were free do it didn't hurt to try. Homecoming was tomorrow and Aaron was unsure if Melrose was taken, because they were assuming they were going to the dance, right? Maybe he'd ask her now, to double check. Aaron looked around for the tall blonde-haired girl. She wasn't working today so hopefully he would see her at the carnival unless she was buried with homework. But Melrose was fast at equations, so hopefully it was all math. No, it wasn't. He was in math class with her and they didn't have much homework to do.
Aaron saw Melrose lost, gazing around the grounds. He jogged over to her and grinned, brushing hair out of his face, "hey, Mel," Aaron said, almost chocking in nervousness.

Melrose wiped her head around to see Aaron standing in front of her. Aaron! Long lost Aaron. It'd been forever since they talked.
"Champ! How you doing, bud?" She leaned forward to give him a light hug. Melrose was still lost on what kind of hugging level they were on.
She couldn't help but wonder if Aaron was going to homecoming. Maybe she could hang with him, since she currently was a loner for the dance. Or maybe Aaron wasn't going. Maybe he preferred reading on a Saturday night. Who knows. It was completely up in the air.
"I've missed hanging out with you." She added quickly with a slight frown.

Fumbling with her thumbs as she sat on the bench she saw Melrose and Arron across the quad. Looking around she shrugged deciding not to be antscoial like she had been.
With a sigh Missy stood up and made her way over to the booth where you have to toss darts to pop the balloons. It has stuffed animals and little pictures and things. "Um two darts please" She said handing the boy 3 dollars. With a smile she stepped back. "No using Powers Missy." The boy said.
Immediately her face dropped and her smile fell. "Aww no fair. Whats the point in a carnival if-" "Nope" He said shaking his head. "Oh I hate you fine"
Looking at the dart then to the wall of Balloons she leaned forward slightly tossing itl And...missed. "Wow" She said. It looked so easy. Picking up her last one she tried leaning in farther. Tossing it towards the wall it hit the wall and bounced off. "Ok the wall cheated" She said hanging her head as she went to walk away.

As Melrose spoke, Aaron took a deep breath. He wasn't focused on replying to her. He was completely nervous, palms sweaty and a heart beating faster than Melrose could run. Aaron was not the best at asking to girls dance, but somehow Melrose gave him the strength to ask her. "Dancebueddyyesgowithme?" It all blurted out. He felt dizzy. Aaron wasn't going to pass out but he looked completely foolish.

Melrose pushed her eyebrows together in utter confusion. What did he say now? "Uh. What was that? Sorry." Melrose tilted her head, much like dogs do when they're dumbfounded.
Aaron looked uncomfortable all of a sudden. He looked nervous and sweaty to say the least. Melrose feared she had said something or maybe Aaron had bad news. Or something. I don't know.
She gave a reassuring grin, in case anything was wrong. She caught the word "dancebuddy" or at least that's what it sounded like.

Melrose was playing those women games on him. Aaron was positive that Melrose knew exactly what he said, she just wanted to hear him again and fail and stutter and vomit everywhere for her own sadistic pleasure. He took another deep breath. Aaron hoped he appeared normal although the room was spinning and he could feel sweat. Except from Melrose point-of-view, he would appear lost with a blank stare. "Are we going to the daaannnnce together?" Aaron sheepishly smiled and stepped back- preparing for any rejection. Maybe Mel would be the one to run. She kind of had that advantage.

Stacy walked through the crowed of students. They were all laughing and screaming. She understood that they were excited but did it really have to be so loud? She continued to walk through the crowed. She occasionally stopped and watched a could of the games that were set up. She continued to walk around. Not really trying to find a particular thing. She was walking just to walk.

"Well that sucked" She said shaking her head walking away from the stupid game. Sighing Artemis made her way through the crowds avoiding getting stepped on. "To many people" She said tightening her ponytail. Blowing air in her cheeks she almost ran in to a girl. "Oh Im sorry" she said putting her hands in her pockets. Nodding to the girl as she walked by Artemis taveled around the carnival alone looking at all of the things. Hoping to see a familiar face.

Melrose's face slowly lifted into a smile. "Together?" she blurted out excitedly. Aaron wanted to go together. Whether or not it was a proper date asking, Melrose couldn't tell, but the fact that the two of them had each other to hang out for the night was all that truly mattered. Melrose wasn't going to be alone for Homecoming.
"You? and... and Me?" Melrose bit her lower lip, hoping it was like a date, "Like.... like a date?" It was a leap. A risk. Aaron might of only meant for them to be friends. Dance buddies, ya know? But maybe not. Maybe something was finally giving.

Oh god Mel wanted to clarify if it was a date. Did Mel want it to be a date? Or did she want to go as friends? Aaron's face was now red. Shit. He was in trouble. He tugged on the collar of his shirt to cool himself down. Think Aaron, think. Be affirmative, be umm... be uh, step up to the game? "Yes." Aaron nodded once, his eyes widen. All he could say was yes, he was too scared to say anything else.

Riza took the children home after they exhausted themselves from running around, especially continuously going on the moon jump obstacle course. The students thought his children were adorable which he took as the best compliment he could receive. He loved Ashton and Misty; they were his life. Gary took the responsibility out of him and his wife to help clean up after the carnival ended, and as "head of house" he liked to call himself for the reference of Harry Potter, he stayed to do his responsibility and watch out for the students, and as a teacher as well. Gary walked around, admiring the lantern lights that lit up the grounds.

Melrose nodded. And then she nodded again. And then she nodded once more to be sure she had nodded in the first place. "Yeah." Melrose grinned brightly. Her and Aaron. Aaron and her. Together. This is what she always wanted! "Great. I can't wait!" She restraining from absolutely pouring out her enthusiasm.
She was going to homecoming with Aaron Murphy. And it was a date. Touchdown. This night just got ten times better.
