Lyra opened the the gate and entered the pool. She threw her towel down on a poolside chair and took off the over-sized shirt she was wearing along with her gym shorts so she could swim in her purple strapless bikini. Now at the pool, Lyra was second guessing to go in. She walked to the edge of the pool and dipped her foot in and debated rather or not to go in. The water was cold but the air did feel colder, so maybe swimming was the better option.
Lyra retracted her foot and hugged herself and looked back in the pool. Maybe jumping in would be better. Get the temperature of the water over and done with. Nah. She didn't feel like it.
Lyra walked over to the shallow end of the pool where steps led in to the water. Slowly but surely she walked in to pool, gasping when the water reached her waist. It was colder than she imagined. But Lyra gave in. It was either stay cold or embrace the water. She took a deep breath and submerged herself in the water and quickly came out.
Everything was better than expected.
Lyra was not the greatest swimmer so she doggy-paddled around the pool.

Jamie entered the pool area to the sounds of splashing in the pool. It was the girl he had met at the karaoke bar, He barely remembered her name because soon after his number he had to get back to his dorm.
"Hey, It's Lyra right?" He said removing his t-shirt exposing his pale torso and abdomen diving into the pool swiming over to the female.

Lyra stopped swimming and planted her feet to the bottom of the pool, watching Jamie enter the pool and swimming towards her. She covered her face so water would not get splashed in her eyes. When it was safe, Lyra put her hands down and nodded, "yeah... it is," Lyra said, surprised to see the boy from karaoke here. "You're Enrique," Lyra said, pointing at him. She didn't remember his name that well.

"Oh I wish." He said laughing. "Actualy my name is Ortega." He said doing a small bow (which looked rather clumsy) to the young woman. "Jamie Ortega."

"Nice to meet you again," Lyra said, then copied him in introduction. "My name is Calnote," she nodded her head and slightly bowed her body, "Lyra Calnote." She stood up straight and started to walk around the pool. "So you go to Oceanside, huh? What year are you in?" she asked. Jamie had to be a younger year. She did not recognized him at all.

"This is my first year at this kind of Highschool."He replied smiling lightly."What hall are you in?" He asked tilting hishead to the side like a confused dog.

Lyra nodded her head slowly in a "ah-ha" type of matter. "I'm in the Hercules Hall," Lyra said to Jamie. "First year, huh? I'm a senior. That explains why I've never seen you here," she said as she stopped walking, letting herself stay in place. "What about you?"

"Einstein? Really now? So what do you do? Control minds, levitate things with your mind..." Lyra listed off mental powers off the top of her head. "Sophomore? Why weren't you here freshman year then? Different school or something?" she wondered, her head tilted slightly to the right.

"I have the power to control soundwaves with my mind, And touch tackle telekinesis." He replied casualy. "I went to a normal Highschool before." Jamie said trying hard not to emphasize the word 'Normal'.

"Soundwaves? Really?" Lyra sounded completely interested after he spoke of his power. She moved closer to Jamie and put her hands on her hips, which could not be seen because her hips were underwater. "With your mind?" Lyra puckered her lips and scrunched her face as she looked up. Her face was now normal and she nodded slowly, "we're... kind of on the same wavelength of power," she said making a side-to-side motion with her hand.

"Yeah..." He said the song 'Macho Man' Starting to fill the room breaking the semi-silence of the pool.

Lyra's eyes widened when she heard the song playing. She burst into laugher and covered her mouth as she did so, nearly falling over and splashing into the water. To calm herself down, Lyra ducked underwater and quickly came out. "Are you doing that?" she snorted.

"That's pretty cool," Lyra said as she bobbed her head up and down. "I can control sound waves too," Lyra said, leaning back on the edge of the pool. "Except I use my voice, not my mind."
