There was something about water that attracted Lyra these past three days. Or four... Lyra lost track of the time and day since it was summer. But she found herself at the beach a lot... she just never went swimming. Lyra opened the gate of the pool and set her towel on a table. She took off the large shirt she had over her pink bikini decorated with white polka-dots. She took out the hair band in her hair and shook her head. Keeping her sunglasses on, Lyra sat down at the edge of the pool, keeping her feet in the water.

Artemis floated around the pool as she let her hands fall in the water keeping her afloat. She liked this..it was calming and nice being alone. But then again she didnt ALWAYS want to be alone. Artemis looked up a bit as she placed both feet firmly on the bottom of the pool when she felt the ripples move. Someone else was here. She looked around only to see Lyra. "Hey lyra" She said swimming over to her.

Hearing her name, Lyra pulled her sunglasses up, letting it rest on top of her head. She scrunched her eyes until they adjusted to the sunlight. It wasn't completely sunny outside, but the change still hurt her eyes. At least it wasn't blazing hot outside. Hell, for Lyra, it was almost too cold to swim because of the weather. But she was slowly getting used to the California cold.
"Hi, Artemis," Lyra said, leaning back on her hands as the girl swam over. "What's up?" she asked.

Artemis smiled as she swmm over to Lyra. Artemis noticed her sunglasses. They were nice. "Nice glasses" She mangaed to say before jumping on the since next to Lyra with a smile. Atremis made a light breeze come and dry her off. She inhaled looking around then back to her.
"Noting much...just out for a swim. and you?" SHe said moving her hair out of her face.

"Oh," Lyra's eyes looked up as if she could see her sunglasses so she touched them, making sure they were still on her head, "thank you!" Lyra smiled and put her hand back in the original leaning position they were in. "Same," Lyra replied, her legs gently moving in the water, "but I normally don't swim by myself,' that was a lie, normally when she swam people started to appear, it was luck. This time Lyra thought she was going to swim but didn't feel like it once she made it to the pool.

Artemis smiled as she nodded. "Yeah anytime." She pressed her lips to a line moving a bit as she leaned back letting the sun hit her. She was pretty white it seemed. But, that didnt bother her that much. She shrugged it off seeing lyra grab her glasses.
"So you gonna swim water is pretty nice thanks to me" She smiled letting her feet dangle in the water to. She watched the ripples as they moved

Lyra shrugged a shoulder, "probably not," she replied, quiet enough so Artemis could hear. She closed her eyes. She couldn't feel the sun zap it's death rays on her. This was definitely not home. "The thought of swimming is appealing," Lyra said, "but once I get to the water my mind seems to change."

Artemis heard lyra whisper. She raised a brow. "Well thats no fun"S he said kicking up a bit of water. Not enough to wet her completly but just splash her. She heard the rest of Lyrs speak about it being appealing. "Well its always gonna look like that...you just have to take the initiative and jump in" SHe said with a smile then a shrug. There werent very many pools and no beaches where Artemis was from...she she liked being near water.

"I'm not afraid to get into the water, I just don't feel like swimming," Lyra replied. Drips of water splashed onto her body. It was cold and Lyra shuddered slightly as if it was a small spaz in her body.

Artemis nodded. "Well I didnt mean to say you were afraid" She said Lyra shudder and she smirked. The water was pretty warm..but maybe not after it hit the air. "Sorry" She said with a sheepish grin. "Well its nice if you ever want to get in"

"I know," Lyra replied, turning her eyes away from Artemis. With Artemis around she didn't have to worry about cold water, although cold water was nice back at home... no, no it wasn't. 87 degree water was nice back at home... but water shouldn't be 86 degrees when the outside weather was 75. She'd never get out of the pool. "I might go swimming later," Lyra said.

Artemis sighed as she leaned back nodding. "As long as you know" She said sarcastically. Artemis looked around to the semi empty pool. "Not many people in here" She said running her hand to the back of the neck. She pressed her lips to a line and looked back to Lyra when she said she would go in later. "Well thats good...its nice in here" She said with a smile.

'It's probably because they are at the beach," Lyra said. Artemis was rather persistent about going into the pool. Artemis wasn't even in the water. Was something wrong with it? Like a dead rat in the bottom? Lyra pulled herself up and the water from her legs dripped down as she walked to the towel. She dried her legs off and put back on the shirt. "I'm getting hungry, actually," Lyra said, "I think I'm going to get a lite snack."

This is good for you, Cora, Cora reasoned with herself, dipping her toes in the water. Since the death of Jess, she had begun to second-guess swimming. Especially drowning.
Cora knew she was an exceptional swimmer. The water invited her warmly as it always had, beckoning her. Cora let the smell of chlorine tickle her nose, for it was the second best smell next to the ocean.
Reluctantly, Cora hopped in the pool. The blue water engulfed her, and she immediately felt that her top half needed to be dunked too. So Cora slipped under the water, letting her stomach graze the tile below. Her hair was knotted securely in a bun, but she wasn't surprised when she oped her eyes and saw a few strands dancing in the water.
Cora emerged into the air, beaming. With that, Cora swam to the opposite side of the pool and began to do laps.
Cora swam until her fingers were pruned and she was starting to shiver. It was also nearing the end of the period.
Cora climbed out of the pool, wrapping herself in a towel and hurrying to the outdoor shower before changing back into her lace dress just as the bell chimed.

Nefertari walked into the pool area and put her towel down on one of the chairs. It was empty today so she had the pool to herself. She sat down and tested the water with her toes before sliding in, the water was nice and felt good after a long day of classes. She dunked down underwater and skimmed the floor, coming back up for a breath a bit later. She pushed her hair back with one hand and began to do a couple laps.
