Aaron shook his head, "no." He replied simply. "I'll live a normal life- a life where I am accepted," he replied, resting his chin on his hand. "There's not much I can do with my power- well, there's a lot I can do," he said, his eyes slightly widening, "but then I end up confusing myself with reality."

"Do you just have one ability?" Penelope asked. Having the gift of Empathy was pretty cool, but there was not much that one could do with just that. However, Aaron could always team up with someone; be a sidekick.

"Yeah. Only one," Aaron said. "Sometimes I feel that I don't belong here with everyone's powers running around, I just keep to myself though," he stated, not looking at Penelope anymore. Instead he was looking outside the window. Maybe he should have stayed in Nebraska.

"Of course you belong here," Penelope said to him, "This school was made for you, Aaron, don't ever thing otherwise." She watched him as he looked out the window, wondering what else he was thinking.

"Compared to the talent of other students I don't. But that doesn't mean they are powerful and stronger," Aaron tried to stay focus on Penelope's conversation. Talking about powers made him rather uncomfortable. "Did your roommate move in yet?" he asked.

Penelope could tell that Aaron was uncomfortable with the topic, so she happily moved onto his question, "Yes, she did. She's terrible. I hate her so much!" Penelope told him, "We've known and hated each other our whole lives."

"Hate is a very strong word," Aaron said. He slowly nodded as Penelope expressed her hatred. "Maybe you should ask to be reassigned. Possibly... be the bigger person and move out? Unless you already were planning to, or she was," he suggested. The chances of being paired with the person you hated most was one in a hundred. Aaron thanked himself for not forming any hate relationship with anyone to avoid this mess.

"Well, the word matched my emotion towards her," Penelope said. "Both of us want the other to move out, and I don't think either of us are giving in," she was realizing how ridiculous it sounded when she said it out loud to Aaron, but moving out would be a sign of her defeat.

"Why not move out then? It's just packing up and leaving. If the thought makes you feel better, you'll be in a room where she didn't touch the floors," Aaron said, hoping a new perception would help Penelope change her mind, rather than having to complain and be stuck with a roommate she hated for the rest of the year.

"Because it's an amazing room," Penelope said. "It's huge and has bay windows with a beautiful view. Dealing with her won't be fun, but it might be worth the room. What about you? Any roommates yet?"

"You can always get a better view outside," Aaron said, standing up from the seat to throw away the paper plate. He threw away Penelope's too. He sat back on the table. "Not yet, I'm not expecting any till the year starts but if I get one it wont bother me," he said.

"That's true, but you can't be outside all the time," Penelope told him. "Thanks," she said when he took her plate. "Do you have a preference of you who room with?" she asked him.

Aaron shook his head, "no. I think it's better that way," he replied as he finished off his soda. "There's some saying that if you room with friends the relationship fades away. I guess it's better to hope for the best when it comes to a roommate," Aaron said, although he felt bad for Penelope. That wasn't her case in this scenario.

"Well, hopefully my relationship with my roommate will fade away," she said. She took a deep breath and sighed, wishing there was more to do at the moment. "Wanna go somewhere?" she asked him.

"If you want," Aaron said as his lips curled upwards. It was nice to be invited to go out and about. "Where would you like to go?" he asked her. He was unsure if they could go off-campus since it was still summer.
